Stampendous/ClearScraps Blog Hop!

Welcome everyone!

All of this entire week, the Stampendous & ClearScraps design teams have been partnering and bringing you the best of both worlds – stamps and chipboard and acrylic albums merged into 1 FABULOUS and FUN combination!  If you have never stamped on acrylic or chipboard, or if you do it regularly, get ready for plenty of inspiration and multiple opportunities to win some fabulous prizes from both companies.

Today is the final hop of the week where you will be directed from both the Stampendous Impressions‘ blog or the Clear Scrap blog to the design team members blogs for your viewing pleasure. This is your opportunity to see how to mix and mingle your creativity and take stamping beyond just cards!

Here is a mini album I made that keeps all our fun memories and that I’m using for the hop:

I used the ClearScrap Mixable Sassy 8×8 album for the project of course and about 12 different Stampendous stamps (dream text, kiddo hula, storybook alphabet, cling tire tree, cowlick sunflower, travel notes, summer leaves, cowlick tractor, for him, cling ice pop, kiddo dance, nest egg). The papers I used were all from Momenta. Check out the Stampendous project page to see the detailed list of supplies and step by step instructions.

We’ve got three huge prize packages to give away featuring Stampendous Class A’Peel Stickers, Stampendous Cling Rubber Stamps, Stampendous Perfectly Clear Stamps, a ClearScraps Album just like ours, two Send it Clear Cards from Clear Scraps, an additional ClearScraps product (varies), a colored StazOn ink pad from Tsukineko, an opaque StazOn pad from Tsukineko (with refill), some Sponge Daubers and some Ink Blushersfrom imagine Crafts/Tsukineko. You can win our prizes in three ways -

  • Comment here on our blog – all week  -  we’ll choose one winner from the Mon – Fri Comments
  • Check us out on Facebook! We’ll keep our ClearScraps collaboration posts at the top. Click SHARE and share them on your wall. We’ll draw a winner from all the folks who SHARE our posts this week (through Saturday’s hop)
  • Comment on our Hop! Saturday will be our big Blog Hop – comment on the blogs and we’ll enter you once for each comment!

Plus – ClearScraps has a passel of prizes as well. You can win them by visiting and commenting on their blog!

Leave me some love (and follow my blog if you will, not necessary to win) before you hop along.

A Day of Joy!

Dear friends,

Actually, I’m expecting to have a month of joy! I’m heading to Singapore and Hong Kong for our family vacation tomorrow!! I’m not looking forward to the 24 hour flight with 2 young kids but I’m so excited to get there.

I will have some post scheduled but please bare with the less frequency. And before I leave, here is my card for today!

The adorable Strawberry Kisses Cutie card! There is a Crafter’s Companion new release today – Ian Hollow line of stamps. I just didn’t get my stamps in time for me to make the card and post today. I still  love revisiting older stamp sets – the beauty is still remains and I always find a new found appreciation for them (although this one is not that old – it was released in January this year).

This little cutie was colored using Spectrum Noir markers (cup/saucer: BT2, BT4, BT5, LV2, OR1; cat: TN2, TN3, PP1 ; bow: LV1, LV2, LV5). The little spool is from Maya Road and twine is from Doodlebug Designs. I just handwrote my sentiment.

I hope you have your day of joy!

It takes Rain to Make a Rainbow

Hello everyone!

Welcome to Wire works Wednesday for Flower Soft. I have a fun and simple way to use your wires today … here it is:

Isn’t it simple – just bend it into an umbrella handle and color it to the shade you want with your alcohol markers. Stripe patterned paper is from American Craft. Stamps are from Stampendous. I also used the new Flower Soft color Daffodil to add texture to the umbrella top. Another quick and easy 10 min card!

Have a good one!

Here is what I made:

Inside of card

Outside of card

This is one of the fun-ness project I’ve done in a long time!! I love the stickles on the front of the ClearScraps Send It Clear card and the fun Stampendous Cling Ballerina kiddo on the inside casting her magic wand of twine! My double sided paper is from Little Yellow Bicycle and sentiment is from American Crafts (rub on) and Authentique Paper (stickers). All inks that I used for stamping are from Tsukineko.

It’s all about perspective!

Good morning everyone!

This month’s Gourmet Rubber Stamps design team challenge is “It’s all about perspective”!

Take a stamp and use the image in a different way than it was meant to be used – giving us a whole new perspective on the image. For instance, taking a sentiment stamp and using it to be the petals of a flower, or take a background stamp and use it as a the twine of your banner and so on. This is such a fun and imaginative challenge! Take a look at my card:

I used the new June Diner Set – Bloom and Grow set to create the petals in the flower. It’s actually the individual flower on that set that I stamped 5 times on my card. The sentiment is from the May Diner Set – Swingin’ Spring. Those washi tapes are from the latest Indie Chic collection from My Mind’s Eye – be still my heart!

Head on over to the rest of my talented team mate’s blog to see the creative ways they use their stamps!

My summer party is about to begin.

Good morning everyone,

How is your summer coming along? We are heading to Singapore for our summer vacation in a few days! Not looking forward to the 24-hour flight but very much looking forward to getting there. Someone needs to invent a real life teleport that works not just on TV.

Here is a card I like very much because it’s so me – pretty card with a touch of whimsy.

The flowers are from Prima, I don’t know where the leaf came from – it was stuck on my son’s backpack when he came back from school. It looks too cool not to use it – ya, I’m like that. The papers and the party banner are from Momenta. Love that party banner – I can use it on so many things.

I’ll still be around on my vacation – just maybe not quite as frequently – so hang in there with me. I hope you’re having a good summer.

Big Hair challenge

Hello everyone!

big hair time!!! No not my big hair – her’s …

This is the challenge going on at Color me Creative Copic challenge. It’s one of those things you will learn in Suzanne Dean’s Copic workshops (This particular one is in class 5) – I love how I’m using so much more highlights to create contrasts and Suzanne is really generous about her knowledge and it’s more than just a coloring class – it’s an art class as well! Background papers are from My Mind’s Eye and Graphic 45. Sticker sentiment is from SRM stickers – so convenient those vellum stickers.

* Suzanne will also be having classes at CHA this year – the Sunday before it starts in Chicago. These are copic coloring classes not certification classes. For more info at chance to take her awesome classes in person, check out www.cmcroad.com for more details on how to sign up.*

Please go here to enter in the challenge. You can use any image you want as long as they are colored with any alcohol markers AND fit the theme of course. Your card must also be newly created.

This week’s sponsor is Crafts & Me. You will win some really cool stamps to color with and if you join in both challenges in the month, you stand a chance to win a $50 gift certificate from Oozak. How awesome is that – 2 prize opportunities. What are you waiting for??

With Love

Good morning friends,

Welcome to another Friday post for Crafter’s Companion. Today I’m sharing with you the super adorable dog and cat from the Strawberry Kisses collection – nope, this is not a new release but it’s fairly new that just came out around January this year. I love weeks when there is no new release because I get a chance to examine these fairly new and adorable stamps much closer and play with them.

This particular one is called Babe and it never fails to bring a big smile to my face. This was my original Father’s Day card for DH but I discovered I ran out of anniversary card when I needed 1 this weekend so DH will have to do with one from the stash. Come to think of that it’ll make an awesome Valentine’s Card too!

It is colored with Spectrum Noir markers (cat: GB4, GB5, GB7; dog: IG2,IG4, IG5, moon: CT1, CT2, reds: CR8, CR11). I should also mentioned I used the blender pen to lighten the edges of the moon a little and I used DG2 to add a hint of shadow on the ground.

I hope you have a great summer! We’re heading for our family vacation to Singapore and Hong Kong in 2 weeks! I can’t wait and I’ll be sure to post photos!

Oriental good fortune card

Good morning my friends,

Meet today’s card!

I have not made much oriental focus cards because I am always intimidated by how not-my-style it is but since I started making some for a recent order I had, I discovered it’s not so difficult to integrate it to my style after all. Here I used the Flower Soft Oriental Blossom kit with some American Crafts butterfly brads. Papers are also from the Flower Soft kit and those clear beads are actually clear liquid pearls.

Here’s a list of my other Design Team members for more inspiration:

We would love for you to join us for this challenge – simply add your creation to the comments section of the challenge post on the Flower Soft blog. If you upload your creation to SCS, please use the keyword FSC43 and flowersoft so we will be able to find you. The prize for this challenge is the a Card Kit.

Happy Dad’s Day!!

Good morning my friends,

Happy Father’s Day to all the dads in our lives! I hope you all have a fun day planned. We do – although nothing elaborate, just heading out to brunch and a day by the lake. Can’t really do anything elaborate with a 2 year old in tow – KWIM?

But I wanted to do a quick post to share the Dad’s day gift I made for the wonderful man in my life who is the best dad to our 2 short ones.

Have a great day!

Get Well Soon

Good morning everyone!

It’s Crafter’s Companion Friday today! Today, I’m sharing this gorgeous Art Kure stamp, newly released this week.

Mike Gross, the stamp artist, creates these beautiful scenic and nature scenes that are just breathtaking for me I couldn’t bear to tamper too much with it. The leaves and the sky were lightly water colored with chalk; then die cut in an oval and edges inked. I slapped on some liquid pearls and ribbon. That’s all I did with this card. Isn’t the art work just breathtaking and so tranquil with so little work done to it. In case you’re wondering, the sentiment is from Popcorn the Bear Someone Special set.

Have a great crafting weekend!

Hope your morning has been swell so far! I have another Crafter’s Companion post today – just an extra one this week since I’m in need of a graduation card – yup it’s round the corner – and I just love thisSWALK well-done stamp set with such an appropriate sentiment.

Those little cutie patooties were colored with Spectrum Noir markers (GB5, GB3, GB1, FS2, FS3, PP1, PP3, PP4, DG2, DG4, CR10, CR8, TB5). Background was embossed with a Cuttlebug embossing folder and star paper is from Lilybee Designs.

New Arrival

Good morning folks!

It’s time for another CMC Copic Challenge at the CMC Classroom! Today’s theme is “baby or child”. Here is my new arrival!

I choose this I Brake for Stamps image to work with this week because there were several elements I wanted to practice – the folds on the wrap, the furry booties. I was also wanting to try a totally different color combo than my usual – peach and purples. Gotta use those Copic colors that I just HAD to have. I’m not sure if I entirely like this – please give me your feedback.

This week’s prize sponsor is I brake for Stamps. You can use any image you want to enter into the challenge as long as they are colored with any alcohol markers AND fit the theme of course. Your card must also be newly created.

And when you play along the entire month (just 2 cards), you are also entered into the monthly drawing for the shopping spree at Oozak. How can you beat two prize opportunities – head on over to be inspired and get to coloring.

My English Bear

Good morning everyone,

It’s Crafter’s Companion Friday and today I have a sweet sweet English bear to share with you – specifically Meadow Cottage Bear.

She is a new release this week and was colored using Spectrum Noir Markers (bear:  GB8, GB10, EB5, flower: LV1, LV2, foot and hand pads: PP1, post it note and floral wrap: GB4, GB5, GB1, leaves: DG2, DG4, shawl: TB1, TB2) and I dabbed her fur with some kitchen towel dipped in blender solution to create a softer texture. This was not a bear for coarse flicking fur. Papers were from a very old Making Memories paper pad I had. The shaped card itself was cut with Spellbinders Label 8.

She reminds me of this old little teddy I had when I was little. I’m off to see if I can find him in the basement.

I’m a SuperNova!

Hello all,

I have an announcement to make! I feel like the luckiest person in the world – I’m on the Paper Craft Planet design team!

Paper Craft Planet is one of the best online communities here in blogland – awesome tutorials, industry news, challenges and so much more! One of my favorite posts that I keep going back to is the post reporting the scrapbook and crafting trends following Winter CHA 2012 and the best part – the amazingly welcoming sense of community. I think about half a dozen people I didn’t know privately messaged a welcome note to me when I first joined the community about 6 months ago. How cool is that!

This time is no exception – Susanna and the current design team made me feel so incredibly wanted on the team with their extremely prompt and so heartfelt welcome. I ♥ you girls!

Who are these talented girls I’m referring to:

Adela Rossol

Wendy Price

Lori Tecler

Susanna Boyd

Amy Park

Loretta Lock

Lyn Bernatovich

Deb Felts

Pam Hornshu

Taylor Usry

Lisa Somerville

and a HUGE congrats to my friends Wendy Jordan and Janelle Stollfus for being the other new SuperNovas too!

Head on over to The Planet blog to check it out! I’ll see you there …
