Hayride & Apples Layout

Hello my friends,

I’m sharing another Stampendous layout today – all full of newly minted stamps just seen at CHA last week!

Hayride

& Apples

On the top layout, the kiddos on the wagon was colored using Copic Markers and I love that I had the perfect photos to match the stamp – what are the odds of that!! On the bottom layout, that Autumn text is just divine! I embossed it with various colors of Stampendous embossing powders (from opaque to clear colored powders) with the intent of having the colors fade to transparent as Fall approaches. This is the 1st time I’m using embossing on a layout – something I will keep for a longer time than a card and I wanted to make sure it’s archival safe. I discovered that Stampendous embossing powders are acid free and archival safe for your scrapbooks – here is where I found it and a whole host of other tips and techniques I never knew existed!

Have fun browsing and learning new things!

This Tooth Fairy Is Ready!!

Hello folks..

If you follow me via FB, you may already know that for the last month, DS has been obsessed with losing his 1st tooth and making me test it daily. Well – if I concentrate hard enough, it might just wiggle 1/100 of an inch that day. Well, it’s been a month and nothing is happening yet. Oh and he has tested the market place too – the tooth fairy market place that is – and he found out that the tooth fairy brought 1 friend “paper money”, another “round money” and yet another got candy!! I quickly squelch that candy thought ‘coz this tooth fairy is not encouraging tooth decay in brand new teeth.

Since we’re on a month long family vacation this month and I will be no where near my crafting supplies, I thought it might be prudent for this tooth fairy to be ready just in case it does decide to fall out while we are away. Here is my heavenly arsenal:

The cute stars sticker is from Momenta, the stamps are from My Time Made Easy and the delicious glitter is from Stampendous!

Let’s hope I don’t have to test the tooth much longer.

Rollin by to say Hi

Good morning folks!

I’m still vacationing … finished our trip to Hong Kong and currently in Singapore.

But it is time for another CMC Copic Challenge at the CMC Classroom! Today’s theme is “Anything Goes”. The sponsor for this week’s prizes is Kraftin Kimmie Stamps and they have also kindly provided the image I used on today’s card.

The cute floral patterned paper I used is from Lawn Fawn.

You can use any image you want to enter into the challenge as long as they are colored with any alcohol markers AND fit the theme of course. Your card must also be newly created.

And when you play along the entire month (just 2 cards), you are also entered into the monthly drawing for the shopping spree at Oozak. How can you beat two prize opportunities – head on over to be inspired and get to coloring.

Vintage Christmas in July

Hello folks!

Have has your summer been? We’ve spent the 1st week and a half of our vacation in Singapore and currently in Hong Kong! I’m all topsy turvy right now with jetlag, the 12 hour time difference and such … so it’s no wonder I’m thinking now is the time to post some X’mas cards! LOL … and this week’s for my Flower Soft post, we’re starting with Christmas in July round up!

Well, here it is:

I used Flower Soft Christmas Traditional card topper, sprinkled some Flower Soft on the wreath and plants. I also had some Stampendous glitter mix among the Flower Soft sprinkles in the plants – I love that the Stampendous glitter mix is so chucky that you can still see it and doesn’t the glitter give it such a Christmasy feel! Patterned paper and sticker banner are from Echo Park, the sentiment metal plate is from TPC Studio.

Have a good one and stay cool!

Good morning friends,

All of this entire week, the Stampendous team is showcasing what you could do with resin from Resin Craft blog and I have discovered, you can do ALOT with stamps and resin!! You take the Cake card

Good morning peeps,

I am still on vacation. We are currently in Hong Kong visiting Disneyland tomorrow and will be here for a week before heading back to Singapore again. It’s been a pretty exhausting couple of weeks so far – with all the traveling with 2 kids in tow and dealing with jetlag. Thankfully I made this card before I left MN … so here it is:

All the papers and sticker is from Momenta. I love how the green pops from the black card base. This is one of those cards anyone can whip up in 10 minutes or less. Give it a whirl!

Journey Card

Hello all,

I’m sharing a Stampendous card today – one that was posted on the Scrapbook & Cards Today blog and I realized I had not share it with you yet.

I love how this card came together – specifically, I love the map stamp! Everyone needs a map stamp .. just say’n! The train stamp is so nice and vintagey too and goes so well with the map. Check out the other cool stamps on this Railway stamp set. And to top it all, that glitter mix is just the best! It looks like the train is going over some crushed limestone gravel thingy. I wanted to re-take the photo of this card coz I saw the sun glare to the bottom right which I had missed on the camera viewfinder for some reason but DH saw the photo and thought it was cool that the train looked like it’s coming out of some imaginary tunnel into the sunlight! Well – I now think the card looked much cooler with a story behind it like that – hence the “flaw” stayed.

I hope you are having a wonderful journey.

Pretty little blue birdie

Good morning everyone!

It’s time for another challenge at CMC Copic challenge… this week’s theme is “blues”. Use your blue Copics silly – not how you are feeling.

Ever made a card in your mind and then try to translate it into a real card – sometimes, it happens and sometimes it doesn’t. Well .. this one happened for me (solely my opinion of course) – I’m TOTALLY thrilled with this card. Love the vibrance of the blue (the copic colors as well as the papers from Teresa Collins), the texture of the fluted paper (Canvas Corp), the pop of yellow with just enough girly (Martha Stewart punch). The birdie image is from Sweet and Sassy stamps – so plump and elegant – thanks Korin.

Please go here to enter in the challenge. You can use any image you want as long as they are colored with any alcohol markers AND fit the theme of course. Your card must also be newly created.

The winner of this challenge will win digi stamps from Sweet n Sassy Stamps and when you play along the entire month (just 2 cards), you are also entered into the monthly drawing for the shopping spree at Oozak. How can you beat two prize opportunities – head on over to be inspired and get to coloring.

The Patriot

Hello hello everyone!

We’re in the air right now – literally, on a plane for our Asian vacation. I’m bummed I’m missing 4th of July this year – we usually participate in an “elaborate” kiddo bike parade and a picnic dinner with watermelon involved, followed by some adult fireworks. Real fireworks with some adult friends while the kiddos get to bed – you get your mind out of the gutter!

Since I’m missing 4th of July, I made a 4th of July card with a sneak peek of the new Flower Soft color – The Patriot – releasing this summer CHA!!

My stamp is from Gourmet Rubber Stamp and paper is from Authentique paper. I penciled in a flourish, stamped and embossed my sentiment 1st; then I swirled some Flower Soft glue on the penciled flourish and sprinkled Flower Soft on it!

Happy 4th of July!

The Art Studio

Well …. it’s officially launched!! And I am beyond excited to tell you more about the new venture at Scrapbook News and Review!

They have assembled an amazing and talented group of paper crafters, digital and mixed media artists to bring you a wide variety of online classes and ebooks at The Art Studio!

and my first class will starting in July and here it is

I will be teaching a technique and application based 4 part class series called Bring Your Style consisting of Flower Soft and embossing techniques, basic scrapbooking and card making design concepts and a hands-on application class in finding your art style.

Here is the official description:

Do you like adding visually interesting texture and dimension to your layouts and cards? Is it important to you that they don’t cost and arm and leg? And that they don’t add significant bulk in your albums or postage to your cards?

I sure like adding them and it’s important to me that they’re inexpensive and lightweight. In order to accomplish this, I like to break out my favorite glitters, embossing powders and some Flower Soft. Luckily, all three are easy and unique ways of adding height and texture and they also last a long time.

When it comes to using them on my projects, I like to step outside the box and use them on my layouts and cards in unique and non-traditional ways. In the end, I stretch my supplies as well as add a little more bang for my buck.

Bring Your Style is a series of four well-thought out classes. Each week covers a different product to help you:

  • Discover creative ways to use Flower soft, embossing powders and glitters.
  • Learn convenient tips to work with them effectively.
  • Stretch your crafting dollar by using existing techniques and resources in multiple ways.
  • Familiarize yourself with structured layout designs in order to create visually appealing layouts and cards.
  • Learn how to view your layouts as clusters.
  • Learn how to create movement on your projects.
  • Incorporate the techniques and concepts you’ll learn in all the classes onto your cards and layouts.
  • Understand how to add interesting textural variety as well as visual balance.
  • Complete a final project in the last week where you’ll get individualized attention and hands-on feedback.

Bring Your Style was designed to be a progressive class series that will teach you nine different techniques and an in-depth look at what a good layout comprises, ending with you completing a layout that uses all three concepts. And, even better, brings your own style to the table!

It’s a comprehensive class that will take you from creative technique based to individualized application, all for just $19.99 per class. A huge discount is available if you bundle all the classes into one fabulous mega class.

You’ll get hands-on and individualized attention and feedback in the final wrap-up class that will only be available to participants who attended at least one other class in the series. You’ll bring your completed layout to the wrap-up class and learn from others as well. I assure you that it will be well worth the effort.

Now head on over to The Art Studio hit the Save My Spot button and reserve your seat today.

*Giveaway alert: I will be giving away a free class series (worth $50) today as well*

What you have to do – Share this post and leave me a comment that you’ve done it .. I’ll be drawing from the comments left. Good luck everyone!
