Tart & Spice

Hello there..

Every so often, I pull out an older stamp set just because I still like it and I feel bad and it’s sitting there neglected and unused.

Here is one I love so much – Gourmet Rubber Stamps Oct 2011 Diner Set:

and this is what I made:

Stamps: Gourmet Rubber Stamps, Pumpkin Die: Spellbinders

Love bringing new life to the not so new things.

Toread is in town!

Happy Friday my friends,

Welcome to a brand new Crafter’s Companion stamp release this week! We have a new designer – Toread – and she designs these cutest little elfin images. I am totally taken by how round and impish they look – just darling! I use the Comge set for this card and can I say again I love how adorable she looks!

Seriously stinkin adorable! As usual, I colored her with my Spectrum Noir markers, die cut a circle on blue texture cardstock, lined it up and trimmed off part of the circle. The chipboard sun is from Bella Blvd and the buttons and twine are just from my stash. I then mounted the whole finished image onto a 6×6 yellow card base.

Take it easy and have a fun weekend ahead!

Christmas Spirit

Hello everyone,

Welcome to another fun Flower Soft blog hop! Here are the new products this week from Flower Soft – gorgeous Christmas spirit stamps! The one I used are the Silhouette Stamps and there are 2 more from the Wine Buff collection that are Christmas themed too.

The shiny background paper is from Momenta, the silhouette sentiment stickers are also from Flower Soft – so very convenient. And the best part about these silhouette stamps are that they fit into most Spellbinders and Memory Box dies I have.

Have a peek at how the rest of my talented team mates to see how they are using these brand new stamps. Your next stop on the hop should be Dawn’s blog. But in case you need the whole map .. here it is:

O’range you glad Fall is here ..

Hello everyone!

Welcome to today’s Gourmet Rubber Stamp designer challenge – orange. Well you could interpret is as using a fruit but we’re thinking of the color orange.

Well, a pumpkin is orange too I suppose. And it’s brand new in last month’s appetizer set (Invite to Fright) that I’m now just cracking it out to play. Oh and I forgot to mention that my top pumpkin also wobbles – it’s on a set of Action Wobble Springs that I received from playing with them on another design team collaboration.

Check out the other oranges (the cards not the people..LOL).

Stampendous embossing fun

Hello folks,

Some of my favorite Stampendous products are those gorgeous jars of powdered goodness that melt when you heat them into wonderful backgrounds, borders, and focal points. Yep, heat embossing powders and enamels.

This one has completely melted and “colored” my bird- I inked up that portion of the bird with a Versamark pen and spinkled gold enamel on it. He also wears a glitter crown “attached” with liquid adhesive.

The purple lacey background on this layout was stamped and embossed on purple cardstock soo it would stand out and look texturized. I wish you could see the texture on photo.

Stampendous keeps mixing up new, wonderful powders for our fans, and our new Fran•táge Embossing Enamels are already favorites with stampers worldwide. Why not treat yourself to a new powder or two, or pull out one you bought but haven’t tried? You can find all our embossing powders on the Stampendous website HERE – or find a local retailer near you!

Your creations submitted for September’s Challenge don’t have to use Stampendous images, but if they do, they’ll count as two entries. You need to have your submissions linked to our linky tool below by 11:59pm PDT on October 4th. You may enter as many times as you like.

Our prizes this month are, not surprisingly, some of our Exclusive Fran•táge Embossing Enamels. How about our newest colors??! We’ll choose three winners to receive some super hot Essentials.

FREG037 Aged Marine Embossing Enamel & FRG01C Silver Glass Glitter

FREG039 Aged Scarlet Embossing Enamel & FRG02C Champagne Glass Glitter

FREG040 Aged Wine Embossing Enamel & FRG08C Bronze Glass Glitter

Of course you know our favorite embossing technique right now is Fran’s Encrusted Jewel Technique. This super easy, but super dynamic way of creating cool, dazzling, vintage pieces is really fun, and we just can’t get enough. Our Design Team has been using this technique and these gorgeous Enamels for several months, now, with stunning results. They’ve created a batch of terrific projects for you to enjoy. Here’s a link to each of their blogs. The links will stay up all month so you can see all their projects any time.

Powered by Fairy Dust

Hello friends,

Welcome to another Crafter’s Companion post. It’s been a loooong week for me .. actually a long couple of weeks since school started. DS is just heading into 1st grade and I’m just getting beaten up the shock of daily homework. I’m thinking a bit of fairy dust might just do the trick to get me through the weekend!

This little Sheena Douglass A Little Bit Festive set was colored using my Spectrum Noir markers. I glued down a bit of Stampendous glitter for her fairy dust and Ranger stickles for her wings. Lightly chalked the background so it would pop from the white card base. The card base was also scored around the image. A simple card powered by fairy dust this week.

I hope the school year is settling down for most of you. Have a good weekend!

Flower Soft Autumn Blog Hop

Hello all,

I made something different today! I used a card topper but I didn’t make a card or a layout.  For my own sanity – I made a post it note holder for my purse. I’m usually one of those who throw a pad of Post-it Note in my purse and by the end of the day, all the stickiness is gone and the paper is stuck everywhere in my purse … aargghh. So I made a holder for it.

I used one of the new Flower Soft product – Multi-function Die Cut Cards to make the holder – scored it at 3.75″, 4″, 7.5″, 7.75″ from the bottom of the card. After folding it, I decorated the back panel with patterned paper from Basic Grey and airbrushed the front with my Copic markers and decorated it.

Here is what it looked like on the insides of the holder:

Hey, it’s got to look pretty too – I used the scenic window topper from the start kits and I like that it stands as well so I can admire it when it’s out of my purse and on my desk. I know – I have another pad on my desk but sometimes, I just want the writing on that one in my purse .  New Flower Soft color alert: Autumn.

See the post it on the other side. I had to take a top view so I could show some perspective – it looked odd to just see a front view of the post it note.

I had tons of fun creating something new from an older kit.

Good morning my friends,

Welcome to another sketch challenge this week at PCP, take a peek:

A Little Bit Festive

Hello everyone!

Welcome to another Crafter’s Companion new release post. Everytime, I look at the Crafter’s Companion blog, I’m just amazed at how different everyone’s style is and how the same stamp can be used in so many different looks. It’s just inspirational to me. Today, I’m sharing another clean and white card – clean and simple has always been my style but I’m so into white lately I keep churning these out without even thinking.

This image that I used is Sheena’s latest release from A Little Festive Line – perfect for Christmas. I stamped the image on the card base itself, colored it with my Spectrum Noir markers, added glossy accents on the leaves and stickles on the berries. The card sides were notched with my eyelet punches just below the image and embellished with twine, knotted at various intervals. Sentiment was also from the same Sheena Douglass line, diecut with Spellbinders die and mounted just below the colored image with 3D foam tape.

I hope you find some time to craft now that the kids are back at school!

Scrap it – Frame it

Hello everyone!

Welcome to another fun Flower Soft blog hop! This is my favorite all new Flower Soft product yet … I’ve got 1 to show for it today but it’s been such an hot item in my house, the 2 others in the package are already gone as gifts! It’s more than just a frame to embellish – it’s a instant craft in a bag! My kids love it, my neighbor took 1 for her disable sister to work with – well there was only 3 in a pack.. I wish there were 10!

Here’s mine:

My frame was painted with black gesso over a thin layer of Viva Deco Inka Gold and sprinkled with Flower Soft glitter frosting (Hint of Violet). It was meant as a gift so I added the focal image, embellishments and a bottle shaped card from the Wine Buff collection. Your next stop is Dawn’s blog and she decorated it with paper and embellishments with a photo so she could display in her home – oh the endless possibilities!!! I LOVE it!!

It’s never too early for Christmas!

Hello friends,

Welcome to  another Crafter’s Companion Friday post!

With pleasantries out of the way…may I say how EXCITED I am with this card? I am beside myself with all that white and glitter -  it sparkles just like a clean dish out of the dishwasher and it speaks to me at a completely different level only another OCD can understand … LOL!

I used the brand new Sheena Sillios stamp collection on this one – the very sweet snowflake border and the elegant sentiment – so perfect for each other. The crackled gold background paper is from Momenta, background is partially embossed with Lifestyle Craft embossing folder, sentiment was diecut with a Spellbinder die and snowflakes were embellished with some gold stickles.

It’s never too early for Christmas in my book!

DCWV on QVC UK

Hello everyone..

Some things are meant to be read and not spoken – case in point – trying saying the blog post title quickly.. I promise you’d feel like a spy.

I wanted to share some projects I made for Die Cut With A View (DCWV) last month for QVC UK on a free lance design basis. I was thrilled they called me, more thrilled with the amazing fabric paper they sent me and most thrilled with the projects I made. (no the photos are not my family, they sent me photos to work with too).

You can catch my projects on DCWV on QVC  tomorrow (September 5, at 2pm England time) – and here is a time zone convertor for you to figure out what time that will be for you (it’s September 5, 8am CST for me).

Pizza Time

Hello everyone…

Is it already the 1st of September? Where on earth has summer gone? School starts in 4 days for us and DS will be in 1st grade – wow, where has the time gone? I’ll let you know in 4 days if how I’m feeling about my baby going to big boy school.. but for now, it’s always pizza time .. this month’s new Diner Set release at Gourmet Rubber Stamps.

It’s making me hungry just looking at it … but since it’s 11pm while I’m typing this post, and it’s not a good idea to have pizza at this hour (for so many reasons), I made a card instead.

The chevron stamp background is a fairly new release from Gourmet Rubber Stamp and you can find it right here. I love that it comes in a coverall size ( 5 3/4″ x 5 3/4″) and I just masked off the section I needed!

Check out what the rest of my talented team mates did with this delicious set!
