You Deserve a Treat

Hello my online friends,

Crafting is an extension of me – I make cards that reflect my state of mind. This time of the year for me is filled with family, reunions, food and party not just from the holiday celebrations but also with 3 birthdays thrown in as well (both my kids and my own). I’m totally exhausted at this time too needless to say. So when my family ask me what I want for my birthday in 3 weeks, I usually just want down time. My cards reflect that:

These 2 cuties are from Strawberry Kisses collection – Friends. Colored with my trusty Spectrum Noir markers – GB3, GB5, GB7 (dog); BG3, BG5, BG6 (cat) and PP3, PP4, IG4 (cushion). Sentiment is from the SWALK collection – Deserve a Treat stamp set. Ribbons are from May Arts and paper is from Basic Grey.

I hope you get a well deserved treat amidst this holiday season.

Card Maker and Flower Soft partners

Hello everyone!

Welcome to another Flower Soft post and this week, we are partnering with Card Maker magazine.

I wanted to share a timeless Flower Soft classic – the ever adorable Hedgerow the Hedgehog.

He is a card topper so there was no coloring involved but I did use Nutbrown Flower Soft for his texture and Toffee Flower Soft for shadows. Patterned paper is from Simple Stories.

Hop around to get more animal themed inspirations:

Stampendous Core

Hello folks,

Welcome to a special collaboration with Stampendous and Core’dination – Holiday Hard Core all week with holiday inspiration.

My holiday every year feels like me running around like a chicken with his head cut off because I not only have the usual holiday prep that everyone has, I have 3 birthdays parties I am hosting thrown in as well – DD is born on Thanksgiving week, DS is born 4 days before X’mas and my own b’day is 2 days before X’mas. Imagine 3 times as much decorating and 3 times as much present buying – yes I buy my own presents or I’ll end up with kitchen appliances.

So I made a layout inspired by my holiday experience: Life is a circus!

Besides Core’dination papers, I used these stampendous stamps and essentials on my layout:

Cling Lil’ Joker

Carousel Circus Perfectly Clear Stamps

Jelly Bean Glitter Kit

Baby Blue Embossing Powder

I hope you get some time to scrap some of your holiday memories.

Gourmet Rubber Stamps Color Challenge

Hello my friends,

Hope your Thanksgiving went well!

Check out this months color challenge from Gourmet Rubber Stamps. So very pretty and makes me feel all Christmasy!

Here is my card with those colors:

I used Holiday Script for the sentiment – if this was the only holiday sentiment set you get, you have to get this set, there are SO MANY beautiful fonts on this set! And the beautiful medallion around the sentiment is actually a stencil from Gourmet Rubber Stamps too – a brand new product!

Dear Santa,

Hello my friends,

I hope your Thanksgiving has been great. As usual, I gobbled till I wobbled – not good. But on a positive note, I have my Christmas tree and decorations up – we do that during Thanksgiving and I’m glad to have gotten that out of the way. Now, for the presents:

This original Humphrey was colored with Spectrum Noir markers – DR1, DR3, PP5 (for his overalls); IG1, IG2, IG4 (for Humphrey) and DG2, DG3, DG4 (for grass). Sentiment is from another cute set Popcorn the Bear Dear Santa stamp set. Papers are from Echo Park.

I hope Santa brings you want you wish for this Christmas and if he doesn’t you can always get it from Crafter’s Companion.

Happy Birthday!!

  • Love you to the moon and back.
  • All papers and stickers courtesy of Momenta.
  • Thank you for being in my life.

You r my Thanksgiving Blessing.

Hello my friends,

Happy Turkey Day to my American Friends!

Many thanks for being in my online life as well as my real life – card is made with Flower Soft products. Specifically, Mabel Lucie Atwell Papercrafting kits and Autumn and Lavender Flower Soft.

I hope you have plenty to be Thankful for this year and may you gobble till you wobble!

Time to celebrate!

Hello folks,

  • The end of the year is always a happy and crazy time for me.
  • Happy because everyone in my family is celebrating their birthday and it’s just a wonderful time to get together with the people we love and
  • Crazy because I’m the one planning for birthday parties, buying presents, cleaning house and hosting house guests … phew, I’m tired just typing about it.
  • I don’t really want to get started with those things so I made a card – convenient reason for everything. Ha!

  • Momenta galore on this card.
  • Check out the cupcake border – love that!
  • The tiny bee .. oh my so cute!
  • And that trendy sentiment sticker – love!
  • I just love these fun Momenta stickers!

Hello everyone!!

Eeeeekk… I am so excited with new SWALK images by Crafter’s Companion – newly released today! Check it out …

This one I used is called – Pedigree. I’m so in need of doggie stamps right now. He was also colored with Spectrum Noir markers – BG1, BG2, BG4, BG6 (dog), TB2, FS2, FS3, GB4, GB6 (boy) and DR7, DR4, GB8 (collar & bone). I also used the recently released embossing folder – it comes in all kinds of sizes for every project imaginable. I have my eye on those 8.5 x 11″ ones!

Christmas Silhouettes

Howdy folks,

I cannot shake the chills from the sudden temperature dip this week! So I made a snowy card .. I mean why fight it – I live in MN and it’s only getting colder.

Here is my cold cold wintery card:

The green backdrop is actually Flower Soft’s fairly new product line called Winter Wonderland Card Creator, Santa and stamp is also Flower Soft’s Silhouette line of sticker and stamp and I used Polar White Flower Soft for the snow.

Let it snow! I know I’ll be having fun with it once I get over my initial shock.

Easy Home Decor

Hi everyone and welcome to another Paper Craft Planet 3d challenge!

I just took down my Halloween decorations last week (you know the ghosts, witches, spiders and those that specifically say Happy Halloween) and guess what, I realized that I don’t have enough Fall themed decorations to take me till Thanksgiving. So, my mission, to quickly whip up a couple of quick and easy Fall themed decorations.

These 2 were just pumpkins spray painted in black to fit my home decor – I added rhinestones to one of them and a strip of patterned paper and a twine bow to the other.

This was a twig wreath I found at Michaels – hot glue cinnamon sticks together and tied a ribbon around it. Make 5 of these ribboned cinnamon sticks and hot glue onto wreath.

So simple – anyone can do it. What are some simple 3D crafts you have done?

Mother’s Day over the pond!

Hello folks,

Did you know that in the UK Mother’s Day is actually on Mar 10 next yr – almost 2 months earlier than ours in the US! I guess I found out when someone in the UK asked me to make a Mother’s Day card for her mother now! Here it is:

I used the Mother Knows Best appetizer stamp set here – such a timeless and elegant font and frame.

Stampendous and Beacon Adhesive Blog Hop

Welcome to a Stampendous and Beacon Adhesive hop!

All week long, we have been showcasing Stampendous stamps and Fast Finish product from Beacon Adhesive – the “official adhesive for Craft Wars”.

I created a mixed media canvas for this hop:

I used these Stampendous stamps on the canvas:

Jumbo Spring Bouquet

Cling Music Score

Cling Jumbo Butterfly Trio

Royal Butterfly Perfectly Clear Stamps

I also used a couple of layers of white gesso and moulding paste to create some textural interest and I finished the entire canvas with Fast Finish to seal those layers of paint in.

Here is a close up:

This sure was a fun piece to play with .. and the whole team is playing along today, so be sure to visit all of the blogs and leave some insightful, kind comments and we’ll give some great prizes, sending some of you with U.S. mailing addresses some Fast Finish Decoupage Medium and some Stampendous Stamps. Here we go…

Gourmet Rubber Stamp sketch challenge

Hello folks,

What a gorgeous weekend it is in MN …  I’m going to be outdoors enjoying the last of the good weather for the season … so here is a quick short post to share Gourmet Rubber Stamps sketch of the month.

This was a tough sketch for me – I couldn’t decide where the focal image should be, where the sentiment should be, which stamps to use … sigh! I finally decided on something and it’s a card for Easter! Ha …bet it’s Easter somewhere around the world.

Alright – go enjoy the weather if it’s warmer in your parts of the world!

Hello my friends!

Thank goodness it’s Friday and welcome to another Crafter’s Companion post. Smile – because it’s Friday and because Thanksgiving is round the corner and we have lots to be thankful for!

This so appropriate sentiment is from Humphrey’s Catching Up set and the oh so cute kitty is from Strawberry Kisses Little Miss set. I loving my Spectrum Noir Markers more and more with each practice just because I can see some progress. It’s so easy to achieve awesome contrast and depth with so few markers – with this image, I used DG2, DG3, DG4 for the bag; IG2, IG4 for the cat; PP1 for the heart and CT4, CT1 for her bow. I hope you will give these markers a try. Papers are all from Bella Blvd.

Circles of Christmas on PCM

Hello all,

I wanted to showcase one of my favorite stamp set from Gourmet Rubber Stamps – Circles of Christmas. I think I have used this set like 3-4 times since I got it a month ago!

Check out the entire stamp set and more Christmas sets on Moxie Fab World Stamps of Approval too to see how you could win this set!

Stampendous and Beacon Adhesive

Welcome to a Stampendous and Beacon Adhesive hop!

Well, I want to say it’s a collaboration hop but we’ve been collaborating for such an ongoing basis that to call it just a week of collaboration just doesn’t seem to do it justice.

Anyway, this week, we’re showcasing the Fast Finish product from Beacon Adhesive – the “official adhesive for Craft Wars”.

Here is my simple project:

I stamped the Stampendous Cling Violets onto a tissue paper and decoupage it onto the switchplate with Beacon Adhesive Fast Finish. Easy peasy and an instant way to dress up a boring plain wall!

Check out what other creative ways my team has used Fast Finish on their projects! I promise inspiration galore!
