Hello folks,

I had to look it up .. Bon Chance means good luck in French. Lately, I feel like my creature comforts are left to chance with this dismal disappearance of Spring weather .. so I need some luck and a warm cuppa sent my way please.

Sheena Douglass’s French 50s Cafe stamp collection is just the right set for this card and my mood. I used a digital version of the stamp that the design team has so I was able to manipulate the cup larger – you could do the same by stamping and enlarging it digitally. Cup was also colored with Spectrum Noir markers (PL4, CT1, CT2, CT3, CT4). Patterned papers are from American Craft and Jillibean Soup.

It takes Rain to Make a Rainbow

Hello everyone!

Welcome to Wire works Wednesday for Flower Soft. I have a fun and simple way to use your wires today … here it is:

Isn’t it simple – just bend it into an umbrella handle and color it to the shade you want with your alcohol markers. Stripe patterned paper is from American Craft. Stamps are from Stampendous. I also used the new Flower Soft color Daffodil to add texture to the umbrella top. Another quick and easy 10 min card!

Oriental good fortune card

Meet today’s card!

I have not made much oriental focus cards because I am always intimidated by how not-my-style it is but since I started making some for a recent order I had, I discovered it’s not so difficult to integrate it to my style after all. Here I used the Flower Soft Oriental Blossom kit with some American Crafts butterfly brads. Papers are also from the Flower Soft kit and those clear beads are actually clear liquid pearls.

Just us

Good morning everyone!

This layout makes my heart swoon!! Actually it’s the 2 little short ones that makes my heart swoon – but I love any layout with them in it ♥ No more words for how swoony I feel – must be a mother kinda thing. 1 is born at Thanksgiving and the other at X’mas and 2 days before my my own b’day – so they are my Thanksgiving and b’day/X’mas gifts. Why do I say that? Because this is the last week to enter into the Stampendous gift challenge!

Here ya go … doesn’t that make you want to go awwww … They’re just playing and he is just shoving the Nuk into everyone’s mouth ;)

Here are some details of how I did the page:

Supplies:

Cardstock: Bazzill

Patterned Paper: Little Yellow Bicycle, My Mind’s Eye

Stamp: Stampendous

Ink: Ranger

Buttons: Dress it up

Chipboard hearts: Fancy Pants

Vellum Hearts: Black Ink

Tab: American Craft

Stickers: American Craft

Washi Tape: K & Co

Pinking Shears: Fiskars

Die: Spellbinders

Die cut machine: Sizzix

Thread: Gutterman

Sewing Machine: Kenmore

Adhesive: Scotch

 

Instructions:

  1.  Attach multi-colored stripped patterned paper onto layout background.
  2. Die cut eyelet circle and trim top and bottom edge of a strip of grey cardstock with pinking shears. Decorate top edge with washi tape.
  3. Attach photos to stripped panel. Tuck die cut eyelet circle under left photo and embellished grey cardstock under right photos. Add journaled tab to left photo.
  4. Roughly sew multiple lines to resemble tree truck and branches vertically through the middle of the page.
  5. Stamp kids swinging on both sides of the layout.
  6. Randomly decorate tree branches with hearts to create a variety of texture and dimension.

Now go scrap your awwww moments while I admire my children.

Mabel Lucie Attwell stamp

Hello everyone,

Welcome to another Flower Soft challenge. This week’s challenge is to use another Mabel Lucie Atwell stamp on your card. Here is my card:

These little cuties were so easy to color – it is drawn with such large open spaces that allows for easy shading and highlights. I colored them with Copic markers. Background patterned papers are from American Craft and Teresa Collins. I added some Flower Soft for the grass and the hat topper for some texture and punched out a lace border with a Martha Stewart punch.

Humphrey Loves You!

Good morning everyone!

Welcome to another Friday’s Crafter’s Companion post. I am showcasing today – one of my favorite Crafter’s Companion character – Humphrey. This new collection is just released this week. Meet Baby Humphrey!

 

I decided to use a different sentiment than what comes with the set since Mother’s and Father’s day is coming right up and this would make such an appropriate card from a child to a parent.

Baby Humphrey was colored using Spectrum Noir Markers – IG1, IG2, IG4, PP3, PP4, PP5, CT1, CT3, LV2). My background paper is from American Crafts, the scallop border die is from Papertrey Ink and the ribbon is from May Arts.

So I had to go with the theme this week:

I love how this card turned out! The contrast between the strong colors in the background and the softer colors in the foreground really catches my eye!

A shaped card for baby.

Welcome to another Forever Friends challenge this month. The theme this month is to make a shaped card and I have just the one in mind that I always go to – My Papertrey Ink Onsie die. It’s my best seller (the card I mean) – I never have one in inventory!

How can it look any cuter with that cute little bear on the front! Come play along – you don’t need a Forever Friends bear to play; just use any animal image.

Belated Birthday

Hello everyone,

I just noticed that I have been posting quite a bit the last couple of weeks. Well well, that’s because I have been in crafty heaven these days with the huge box of goodies Stampendous sent me that I totally forgot about one of my closest friend’s birthday.

Tsk tsk – what a terrible friend I am and I’m very ashamed to admit this. But the crafter in me yearns to share the card I made for her – she loves these pretty girly things in pastel colors so I hope she likes all the scalloped edges, the twirly whirlies, the sparkle and soft colors I included in her card. And I also hope she forgives me too.

I played with alot of Stampendous products on this card. First of all, I created the colorful background with Distressed Ink (Fired Brick, Wild Honey, Tumbled Glass) and a stippling brush. Scalloped punch top edge and round bottom edge. Then I stamp the flourish from the Stampendous Cling Jumbo Dahlia stamp set with Distressed Ink (Pumice Stone). I randomly emboss the colored background with Frantage Embossing Enamel (Shabby White), Stampendous Vintage Glitter (multi crystal mix) and Frantage mica fragments (Pearlized Mica). The finished background was adhere to card base and top edge stitch twice. American Craft Ribbon was attached. The sentiment I used is from the Stampendous Birthday Assortment Perfectly Clear Stamps and stamped on vellum and diecut with PTI doily die. Finish card by attaching sentiment and Kaiser Craft flower blossom.
