New Crafter’s Companion Stamps

Hello folks,

Check out these very detailed and elegant stamps from Crafter’s Companion – the Crysalis collection. They are illustrated by Christine Haworth who also designed the timeless and elegant Paintbox Poppets line of stamps.

If you enjoy coloring – these will bring you great joy! She was colored with Spectrum Noir markers. The sentiment stamp is also from the Crysalis line of stamps – gorgeous isn’t it.  Paper is from Crate Paper.

New Flower Soft Colors!

Hello Everyone!

Can you tell I’m super excited about the new Flower Soft colors?? Daffodil, Old Rose, Cornflower, Crocus – such a soft and delicate palette! and I used one of them on my card today … Daffodil.

The image, including the pop out flowers, is the Die Cut Dimensions – Wildflower 2 collection. How cool is that!

The sentiment is also from Flower Soft. My delicious damask looking background paper is from Crate Paper.

I think the next new color I’m going to try is Old Rose. THAT my friends, is a swoon worthy color.

It’s the leap year …

Anything goes on this day that happens once every 4 years! I wasn’t even sure if this date was available for me to schedule this post! (I guess it was).

That’s the very easy challenge happening this week at The Pixie Cottage. Make whatever you like – Anything goes and/or use the sketch below:

Here is my anything goes card:

I used chalk to color this little birdie. This is such a versatile stamp set that I have found myself reaching for it time and time again. That adorable floral circle die is new from Memory Box – I had to try it out and it cuts beautifully! Paper is from Crate Paper.

Come join in the fun and win 2 stamps of your choice from The Pixie Cottage!

Lots of Laugh from the old croonie

Welcome peeps,

Did the title give away the challenge theme this week at Color Me Creative Classroom? Well, the theme is lots of laughs and bright colors. The sponsor of many good things is I Brake for Stamps.

I made a tag this week since I choose a label stamp (aka smaller size) with the intent of making it into a label for a gift for a friend. Here is my tag:

And here is a closer view of the trendy and crazy old lady who makes me laugh:

I glittered up her glasses, hat pin and earrings too. Boy, was that a tiny image to color. (lesson learnt) Tag was a 7 gypsies pre-printed tag that I dressed up with a sticker from Fancy Pants and a doily diecut from Papertrey Ink. Ribbon trim is from Crate Paper – love how vintagey that looks.

To enter in the challenge, you can use any image you want as long as they are colored with alcohol markers. Your card must also be newly created. Don’t forget when you play along the entire month, you are also entered into the monthly drawing for the shopping spree at Oozak. How can you beat two prize opportunities – head on over to be inspired and get to coloring.

My Lilac Heart

Hello peeps,

Happy Friday! Actually – it’s more like thank goodness it’s Friday – we have been struggling with colds all week at our household. Seems like the crud has been going around lately – my son’s kindergarten class has over 60% of his class out on school! and the school bus only has 4 kids on it all week (usually it’s a busload of 14 kids)

I am happy though to be creating this week – and today I am posting about Sheena Douglass’s gorgeous Paint Fusion flowers again. Nope – I haven’t mastered painting yet but I decided to do some “creative manuevering” with my image and created a heart from her flower stamps instead. For me, that’s the fun part in card making – you don’t have to create a flower just because it’s a flower stamp.

These were her small lilac stamps which I stamped and digitally flipped 1 over to create 2 lilac bushes facing each other like a heart (with rubber stamps, you could stamp, scan and flip digitally). I “tied” the 2 hearts together with a little ribbon from my stash – the sentiments that came to mind for me as I was “tying” the hearts together was “you and me”, “2 hearts as one”; “we’re joined together” – you get the point but I had none of those sentiment stamps. So I just wrote my sentiment out and added an Authentique Paper “&” sticker to create a contrast.

My image was colored with Spectrum Noir marker this time (DR1, DR3, DG3, DG4).  I also added some Flower Soft to the image to add some texture and dimension. Patterned papers are from Crate Paper and wooden frame is from Kaiser Craft.

I hope you have a fun and creative day yourself!

I Heart U

Welcome to another Flower Soft inspired post!

Those little pot of sprinkles are just amazing to work with and since joining the design team, I’ve discovered the card toppers and kits too that makes it a blast to make very cute looking cards!

Our challenge this week is to use any image to make a “Heart U” themed card – ya, any Valentine’s or Anniversary card that says I love you or has a heart on it. Here is my “Heart U” card …

I used Poppy Red Flower Soft as faux stitching around my doily heart. It’s simple enough to dot some flower soft glue around the heart and sprinkle those Flower Soft on the glue. I discovered that the Flower Soft does get into the other holes that don’t have glue on them so my advice is to flip the card 180 degrees upside down and tap the excess Flower Soft of the card straight off (instead of tipping it off sideways for the Flower Soft to slide off, KWIM)

Have fun with using your Flower Soft in fun and unique ways. My fellow design team mates has tons of inspiration for you as well… check them out.

Colors of LOVE

I can’t believe Valentine’s Day is coming; it just seem  like I just took down my Christmas tree! (no I didn’t just take it down last week although I know someone who did …)

Do you have plans in mind? Things get booked up pretty quickily at this time of the year … (hint hint to DH)

Right now, mine is to hibernate in my craftroom and make a Valentine’s Day Card with the Colors of LOVE! Oh wait – that’s also the challenge this week at Color Me Creative Classroom. The sponsor of many good things is Stamp Fairy.

And here is my card with the colors of LOVE (pinks, reds, white and cream):

My patterned papers are from Crate Paper’s new Paper Heart Collection  – can you tell I cannot resist every time new paper come out into the market just before CHA – it’s my pocketbook nightmare.
Well, to enter in the challenge, you can use any image you want as long as they are colored with Copic Markers or Promarkers. Your card must also be newly created. Don’t forget when you play along the entire month, you are also entered into the monthly drawing for the shopping spree at Oozak. How can you beat two prize opportunities – head on over to be inspired and get to coloring.

Tuesday Throwdown From the Heart Challenge

Hi y’all,

Before we get to the challenge this week, I am very sad to announce that this is my last challenge with the Tuesday Throwdown design team. This team is one of my 1st design teams and over the last half a year, I have gotten to know these ladies and come to regard them as my friends. To leave them is very heavy on my heart. I’m going to miss you Brenda, Ceal, Davi, Deedee, Lauren, NanaConnie, Yolanda.

Without making everyone any more sappy, the challenge this week is to use HEARTS in your creations. Our sponsor is Dearie Dolls Digi Stamps.

For such a simple card, I wasn’t quite expecting to use so many paper selection for this – My Mind’s Eye (floral & gingham), Studio Calico (tan text), Crate Paper (wood grain), Authentique Paper (dark red background). The black mat is actually just acrylic paint roughly painted on.

Come join in the fun at Tuesday Throwdown.

Love you!

Hello everyone!

CHA is a day away!! This is always the time that I’m swooning over all the new products coming out. Crafter’s Companion will be at booth #2119 so if you will be there, stop by and say hello to us. I know I will be there and would love to meet you.

Every Friday for the last couple of weeks, you have seen me post various Crafter’s Companion new releases such as the Strawberry Kisses collection, the Arty Kure collection and the Kanji collection. My card today will feature the Love You set from SWALK Winter collection which is also just released this winter.

Here is a close up of the image.

I also used the new boxer board to make this drawer set that I plan to give to my husband for Valentine’s Day, with little surprise gifts in the drawers. It comes with a DVD of valuable instructions and projects, such as this one, and it is so easy to follow. Before owning the boxer and watching the DVD, I have never made anything more than 2 folds. So if I can make this, anyone else can! Check it out and have a fun and creative week!

I know I will at CHA and watch up for my daily updates from CHA! I’ll be sure to include lots of photos and I’m looking forward to meeting you in person if you are there.

Step it up …

Hello my online friends,

I wanted to share this card I made using a Mabel Lucie Attwell Card Kit – a Flowersoft New Release. This is a first for me in a couple of regards – using a card kit and making a center step card!

I don’t know why I have never thought of using a card kit before but I LOVE how this turned out! It’s just so easy to use – I just cut out the image and used it as a card topper. The image is just perfect – no coloring, with pre-marked lines that is easy to cut out and all I did was just embellished – how fun! It sure helps with a lot more room on a center step card to play with.

Papers are from October Afternoon, Crate Paper, Studio Calico and My Mind’s Eye. My sentiment is a Stampendous stamp on a Crate Paper chipboard tag. I love how the vintage elements playing along side nicely with the relatively modern felted trees from Pebbles.

And thanks to the DVDs I have been watching from Crafter’s Companion, I finally mastered making a card with more than 2 folds.

Now your challenge is to take any card found on one of the Design Team blogs or on the Flowersoft Blog and “step it up”.  You will need to link to the original card and show your stepped up creation. If you upload your creation to SCS, please use the keyword FSC43 and flowersoft so we will be able to find you and then add the link to your card to the comments section on the Flower Soft Blog.  The prize for his challenge is the Mabel Lucie Attwell Card Kit.

Masculine Christmas Card

Welcome again to another Tuesday Throwdown challenge,

Today’s challenge is to make a Christmas card for men/boys. Talk about a challenge!! I have a hard enough time making a masculine card; now I have distinguish holidays cards as feminine and masculine!!

Alright, I’m pulling up my sleeves and digging into this challenge – and here is my thought process. Masculine = brown, green (no pink); minimal flowers or ribbon unless it’s in something masculine like burlap, canvas or pinstripes. I guess I should also try to skip the pearls and bling.

So here is my attempt:

Our prize sponsor this week is Dude Time Doodles. Come play along, I want to see how you make your masculine Christmas cards. Tree image is from Dude Time Doodles; sentiment is from Inky Antics, DPs are from Authentique Papers (calendar print) and Crate Paper (Pinstripes). Flower was die cut on burlap.

Have a great day!!

I’m in the spotlight …

Today is my spotlight post at One Crazy Stamper (OCS). I’m sharing 2 cards for my post.

The 1st card is a card I made for my son, well actually I might give it to my daughter and make him a superhero one – I’ll figure it out later since it’s everybody’s birthday at my house. I mean every single one of them – I am knee deep in birthday celebration at this time of the year. My DH just celebrated his b’day not too long ago, my little Emma’s turning 2 next week, my affectionate Shawn is celebrating his birthday in 3 weeks after that and my own 2 days after Shawn’s.

Imagine the number of cakes we have in the fridge at this time of the year!! For these couple of weeks only, we eat cake for breakfast, lunch and dinner. And let’s not talk about presents!

For some reason, all our friend’s birthdays are around the same time too (5 parties in the last 3 weeks) and I use birthday cards more than any other cards at this time of the year. So I make birthday cards whenever I can. Here is card #1:

The little elephant image (Celebrate Big) is from Whimsy Stamps Crissy Armstrong collection and can be found at OCS. He is colored with Copic Markers. Designer paper is from Fancy Pants design.

Card #2, I’m using it for celebrating another relationship, Grandparent’s Day (which is the day after Labor Day):

Sentiment is from Heartfelt Creations; Designer papers are from Crate Paper and the flower is actually handmade and here is a tutorial. You can also find the stamp from OCS. I really enjoyed making these cards for OCS – they carry the kind of stamps I love and I love designing for a team whose products I actually enjoy using – makes designing very easy.

Have a happy November, even if it’s not your birthday!

Halloween is almost here …

Welcome everyone!

I’m so excited today because today is my 1st post with Wags ‘n Whiskers (WnW)!! As I am working on these stamps – I discovered how versatile all the images are for any ocassion. (look at my card and you will understand) And as greeting card business owner, that is the kind of images I look for – images I can use on many types of cards.

Anyhow, the challenge this week at WnW is to use the color black, ribbon &/or pearls. One random participant will win a Free Wags ‘n Whiskers Rubber stamp!

You don’t need to use a WnW image on your project to enter the challenge, but if you do, you will be entered into a 2nd drawing for a another Free Wags ‘n Whiskers Digital Stamp!! Two chances to win!!

If you are in need of a WnW design, click here for Rubber stamps, and here for Digis!

Here is my card:

With this color combo, I can use it as a Halloween card. With a different color combo and a different sentiment, it can be a Christmas card or a birthday or new baby card. How cool is that! The designer papers on this card are from Teresa Collins (green) and Crate Paper (stripes). I love that the Damask on the green paper matches the Moxie Fab World print on the dress.

It’s your turn – let’s see your black + ribbon/pearls creations.
