My Favorite Crafter’s Companion post

Hey there!

There are so many adorable and “must-haves” things when I scroll through the Crafter’s Companion website – stamps, Spectrum Noir markers, The Ultimate Crafter’s Companion, adhesives, the list just goes on. Seriously, it takes me WAY too long to pick out the things Crafter’s Companion sends me every month. This week, we are focusing on our favorite things (imagine how hard it was for me to pick 1 favorite). But I have finally decided it has got to be this Paintbox Poppets stamp set (I’m showing this now in case I change my mind by the next sentence):

CC repost Dec 28

If I had picked out one of the SWALK, Humphrey, Mulberry Wood or Torread stamp sets, we would be here all year! But this is my favorite because I love how even the little sentiment stamps in the set of gorgeous image stamp can create one of my favorite cards and I reach for those tickets again and again (the tickets are blank in the set – I stamped the words in, and they are also part of the set). Really versatile set!

Oh and how can I pick and favorite and not give it away!! Head on over to the Crafter’s Companion blog to win my favorite stamp set!

Mulberry Wood Christmas

Hello friends,

I have another non stamped card to share today. They really make easy Christmas cards if you are running short on time – really if you are sending handmade Christmas cards, always remember that for every bow or stamped images you are coloring, you have to take into account coloring or tying a bow another 20, 30 or more times!

These paper crafting CD from Crafter’s Companion is truly my life saver. Everything you need you just print out. The one I used on my card is from the Christmas in Mulberry Wood CD. There are 12 different designs in 6 colors, background papers, alphabet and verses sections – almost 3600 printed files that I’m pretty sure none of the Christmas cards you send out from this CD would look the same at all! Best of all, they all look so complete to me that all I did was to die cut 2 stars and adhere it to the card by the spine only to give it dimension and matted the image before attaching it to the card.

One and a half more week till Christmas! Are you ready yet?

Winter Wishes & Christmas Kisses

Hello my friends,

I have to say that one of best thing I like about being a part of the Crafter’s Companion design team is that, I get to play with tons of products and not just stamps! Today’s card that I am sharing has images and paper from the Mulberry Wood Everyday CD collection.

I love my stamps and ink but let’s face it, the busy holiday season sometimes gets in the way of happy crafting time. This CD contains thousands of printable element from background papers, borders, tags, toppers and so much more that I can make this card in 10 minutes or less. All I did was print out a topper, stamped on the sentiment – from Popcorn the Bear Winter Wishes, added some textural “snow” – from Flower Soft and from Stampendous, slapped on a twine bow and add it to a patterned paper card base. Card making has never been easier until now!

I hope you have all your Christmas cards made or almost done and have a warm holiday season!

Dear Santa,

Hello my friends,

I hope your Thanksgiving has been great. As usual, I gobbled till I wobbled – not good. But on a positive note, I have my Christmas tree and decorations up – we do that during Thanksgiving and I’m glad to have gotten that out of the way. Now, for the presents:

This original Humphrey was colored with Spectrum Noir markers – DR1, DR3, PP5 (for his overalls); IG1, IG2, IG4 (for Humphrey) and DG2, DG3, DG4 (for grass). Sentiment is from another cute set Popcorn the Bear Dear Santa stamp set. Papers are from Echo Park.

I hope Santa brings you want you wish for this Christmas and if he doesn’t you can always get it from Crafter’s Companion.

Welcome to this month’s Gourmet Rubber Stamps sketch challenge. Here is the sketch:

Here is my interpretation of the sketch (I flipped the sketch around – the rectangle part of the sketch was screaming polariod to me):

Patterned paper is from Echo Park and the beautiful ornament is from the Gourmet Rubber Stamps Circles of Christmas stamp set. Seriously, you have to check out that set – I love every stamp on it, even the sentiment.

Peace, Love & Joy

Happy Friday everyone!

I have to start by saying I absolutely adore these ticket stamps from the Crafter’s Companion Paintbox Poppet Christmas collection when it first arrived at my doorstep and I am thrilled to be able to use it for a modern Christmas card! I love the look of  these modern CAS looking cards and I have the perfect Echo Park paper to go with it .. check it..

The entire sentiment actually says “Peace, Love and Joy” in 3 sentences. I stamped each word into the ticket by masked off the rest of the sentiment – really a handy technique if you wanted to change the layout of how the sentiment originally came in. Each ticket was distressed and assembled together on the card as you see it.

Peace, love and joy to you my friends!

Stampendous Wobbly Fun!

Hello peeps,

This is the the most fun I’ve had on a card – it wobbles!! Action Wobbles that is .. they are action springs you add to part of your card so it wobbles!! How fun is that, especially with interactive cards back in the rage.

All of this entire week, the Stampendous and Action Wobbles teams are taking our stamped cards beyond this stratesphere of fundom and showcasing how they are using Action Wobbles springs on their cards. It is soooo easy to use – just peel and stick under your image! So hold on to your seats and get ready for plenty of inspiration and multiple opportunities to win some fabulous prizes from both companies.

Here is my fun card with my wobbly Stampendous pinecones and Christmas Sentiment, both new released stamp sets:

I also used Stampendous embossing enamels (aged gold and caramel fragments) on the card and sentiment was stamped in Stampendous glitter with a glue pad.

Don’t forget to check out the other talented ladies showcasing their projects today.

Are there prizes?? Of course!! You win 6 Action Wobbles springs and  Party Hat Kiddo and open to US and Canadian residents too! Leave me a comment – Happy hopping and good luck!

Hayride & Apples Layout

Hello my friends,

I’m sharing another Stampendous layout today – all full of newly minted stamps just seen at CHA last week!

Hayride

& Apples

On the top layout, the kiddos on the wagon was colored using Copic Markers and I love that I had the perfect photos to match the stamp – what are the odds of that!! On the bottom layout, that Autumn text is just divine! I embossed it with various colors of Stampendous embossing powders (from opaque to clear colored powders) with the intent of having the colors fade to transparent as Fall approaches. This is the 1st time I’m using embossing on a layout – something I will keep for a longer time than a card and I wanted to make sure it’s archival safe. I discovered that Stampendous embossing powders are acid free and archival safe for your scrapbooks – here is where I found it and a whole host of other tips and techniques I never knew existed!

Have fun browsing and learning new things!

Vintage Christmas in July

Hello folks!

Have has your summer been? We’ve spent the 1st week and a half of our vacation in Singapore and currently in Hong Kong! I’m all topsy turvy right now with jetlag, the 12 hour time difference and such … so it’s no wonder I’m thinking now is the time to post some X’mas cards! LOL … and this week’s for my Flower Soft post, we’re starting with Christmas in July round up!

Well, here it is:

I used Flower Soft Christmas Traditional card topper, sprinkled some Flower Soft on the wreath and plants. I also had some Stampendous glitter mix among the Flower Soft sprinkles in the plants – I love that the Stampendous glitter mix is so chucky that you can still see it and doesn’t the glitter give it such a Christmasy feel! Patterned paper and sticker banner are from Echo Park, the sentiment metal plate is from TPC Studio.

Have a good one and stay cool!

Journey Card

Hello all,

I’m sharing a Stampendous card today – one that was posted on the Scrapbook & Cards Today blog and I realized I had not share it with you yet.

I love how this card came together – specifically, I love the map stamp! Everyone needs a map stamp .. just say’n! The train stamp is so nice and vintagey too and goes so well with the map. Check out the other cool stamps on this Railway stamp set. And to top it all, that glitter mix is just the best! It looks like the train is going over some crushed limestone gravel thingy. I wanted to re-take the photo of this card coz I saw the sun glare to the bottom right which I had missed on the camera viewfinder for some reason but DH saw the photo and thought it was cool that the train looked like it’s coming out of some imaginary tunnel into the sunlight! Well – I now think the card looked much cooler with a story behind it like that – hence the “flaw” stayed.

I hope you are having a wonderful journey.

Beauty in a snow globe

Good morning folks,

I am doing another Crafter’s Companion post today – why another one so quickly you might wonder. Well, I’m covering for Tracy, another Crafter’s Companion design team mate who is out on vacation having fun. I’m having fun in my craftroom too – wouldn’t you join me in welcoming the result of that fun.

Sometimes, it’s just nice to capture all that snow and beauty in a little snow globe. This timeless beauty I’m speaking off is the Art Kure Goldhill Shaftesbury stamp set, captured in a Memory Box snowglobe die colored with alcohol markers. The “snow” in the globe is from some Flower Soft sprinkles, the globe is embellished with Doodblebug twine.

*Tip: I would die cut the colored image 1st before adding the Flower Soft so you’re not crushing all the texture when it goes through the die cut machine.*

I matted the snow globe on some Echo Park patterned paper and adhered it to sage cardstock that has been scored horizontally twice on the top and bottom third. This “relax” sentiment is actually also from a Crafter’s Companion, Popcorn the Bear Father’s Day set. A clean and simple card that is hopefully serene and relaxing too.

Hope you are having a relaxing weekend.

Cardabilities Reveal for Febuary 29

Welcome to another Cardabilities reveal and a leap year too!

You poor thing if your birthday is today – Happy Birthday though – I hope you make up for the years of missed presents and celebrations for those years without a Febuary 29.

Without further chatter, here is the sketch for this reveal:

Gosh, this one really stumped me for a while. Specifically, I didn’t know what to do with that space above – put a sentiment there, used a patterned paper, flipped the sketch, I tried a fancy fold card to no avail – I mean, really stumped me.

Well, here’s what I eventually came up with:

When in doubt, use patterned paper!

Love and Kisses

Welcome to this week’s challenge at The Pixie Cottage.

As always, we have 2 parts to the challenge and you can choose either or both to play along with. This week theme is to make a love and kisses/Valentine’s theme card and/or use the sketch below:Since I received Valentine Hannah from Michelle some 2 1/2 months ago now, I have been dying to use this stamp. So I had to go with the theme this week:

I love how this card turned out! The contrast between the strong colors in the background and the softer colors in the foreground really catches my eye!

Come play along with us. You could win 2 Pixie Cottage stamps of your choice, including this lovely Valentine Hannah!

Wintry Frost is an understatement.

Hello everyone,

It’s freezing right now in MN – cold, icy, snowy – aarrggh. I’d rather these things be only on a card than outside my door as well.

Here is my icy cold and snowy card I made for this week’s challenge at CMC challenge.

The Theme this week is Wintry Frost – color icy, snowy, wet images to look wintry. Also use this photo as inspiration.

Lily of the Valley (LOTV) is our sponsor this week..yeah!! Absolutely adorable LOTV images!!

The papers I used this week is from Echo Park (grey circle background), Basic Grey (small brown dots) and Authentique Paper (blue medallion) – love to mix and match paper manufacturers, such a fun challenge. Ice was created using Stampendous Shaved Ice from the Frantage collection. Snowflakes on the focal image is done with Stickles. The diecut snowflakes are from Marianne Designs.

Don’t forget when you play along the entire month, you are also entered into the monthly drawing for the shopping spree at Oozak. How can you beat two prize opportunities – head on over to be inspired and get to coloring.
