Oh Christmas Tree

Hi everyone,

The cooler weather is getting me all antsy for Christmas. Here is my card:

I used an oldie but goodie Gourmet Rubber Stamp set today, Oh Christmas Tree. I embossed the tree to give it the crisp clean image of white on color. The pot was stamped on gold paper and fussy cut out. There are a few other Christmas tree images on this set too that I’ll love to use next! Check out the rest of our Christmas images to help you get ready for the holiday season!

Stay warm and thanks for stopping by!

Gourmet Rubber Stamp sketch challenge #49

Hello there,

Welcome to this month’s Gourmet Rubber Stamps sketch challenge. Here is the sketch:

Here is my interpretation of the sketch (I flipped the sketch around – the rectangle part of the sketch was screaming polariod to me):

Patterned paper is from Echo Park and the beautiful ornament is from the Gourmet Rubber Stamps Circles of Christmas stamp set. Seriously, you have to check out that set – I love every stamp on it, even the sentiment.

Halloween Banner – 2012

Hello folks,

Every year, I make a holiday banner for my mantel. Last year was Christmas and I guess after a shopping trip from Michaels, it’s going to be Halloween this year.

Here are a couple of close up shots of the banner:

Check out that cool hand … it’s scaring the heck out of me and it’s cold to the touch…eeeek!

That bling spider … swoon!! oh and the owl … my FAVORITE!

My banner is actually a canvas banner mini album from Maya Road, papers and washi tape from My Mind’s Eye, stamps from Stampendous and Gourmet Rubber Stamps, Bling spider is from Martha Stewart. It was a fun shopping trip.

How are you decorating your house for Halloween or Christmas?

If you’d like to play along with any 3D project, upload a photo of your project to the Paper Craft Planet gallery using the keyword 3d185.

Holiday Sampler

Hello everyone!

I am slowing starting to get used to the new school routine and getting over my shock of how much homework a 1st grader has. No, I don’t do homework for him … although, some times I just want to take over to get over how painfully slow and painstaking the process is for my little big boy.

In the mean time, the weather has just suddenly turned much cooler for us, at least in MN, and the daily track to the bus stop is painstaking too. So out comes the mittens … I know it’s still early but I’m also dragging my 2 year old with me to the bus stop (and I’m unashamed to say I also drive the car half a block there too – seriously).

Here are some super cute mittens from this month’s new Diner Set release at Gourmet Rubber Stamps.

Here is the entire Holiday Season Sampler set.

FYI – this month will also be the last month Gourmet Rubber Stamps will be releasing complete Diner set like this …  but don’t fret – you can still get all the cute stamps individually. I love that you only buy the exact stamps you want!

Check out what the rest of my talented team mates did with this delicious set!

Tart & Spice

Hello there..

Every so often, I pull out an older stamp set just because I still like it and I feel bad and it’s sitting there neglected and unused.

Here is one I love so much – Gourmet Rubber Stamps Oct 2011 Diner Set:

and this is what I made:

Stamps: Gourmet Rubber Stamps, Pumpkin Die: Spellbinders

Love bringing new life to the not so new things.

O’range you glad Fall is here ..

Hello everyone!

Welcome to today’s Gourmet Rubber Stamp designer challenge – orange. Well you could interpret is as using a fruit but we’re thinking of the color orange.

Well, a pumpkin is orange too I suppose. And it’s brand new in last month’s appetizer set (Invite to Fright) that I’m now just cracking it out to play. Oh and I forgot to mention that my top pumpkin also wobbles – it’s on a set of Action Wobble Springs that I received from playing with them on another design team collaboration.

Check out the other oranges (the cards not the people..LOL).

DCWV on QVC UK

Hello everyone..

Some things are meant to be read and not spoken – case in point – trying saying the blog post title quickly.. I promise you’d feel like a spy.

I wanted to share some projects I made for Die Cut With A View (DCWV) last month for QVC UK on a free lance design basis. I was thrilled they called me, more thrilled with the amazing fabric paper they sent me and most thrilled with the projects I made. (no the photos are not my family, they sent me photos to work with too).

You can catch my projects on DCWV on QVC  tomorrow (September 5, at 2pm England time) – and here is a time zone convertor for you to figure out what time that will be for you (it’s September 5, 8am CST for me).

Good morning peeps,

Welcome to today’s Gourmet Rubber Stamp designer challenge – shapes – make a shaped card or use some shapes on our card. I love these challenges – so fun! Did you see last month’s challenge that I missed when I was on vacation? Our team took a piece of home decor and used that as inspiration for a card – how fun was that!! So sad I missed that one …

Well, here are the circles and rectangles for this month’s challenge on my card, using Water your Soul Stamp set:

Head on over to the rest of my talented team mate’s blog to see what are they cooking with their stamps and their shapes:

Gourmet Rubber Stamp POTM – My Fancy Lunch Bag

Hello folks..

Are you guessing what POTM stands for?? I did too when I 1st saw it – it’s the Project Of The Month. Our design team takes turns to feature stamps on a project every month and write a tutorial on how to do it. Here is mine:

I was making this bag for a sandwich lunch I made for my husband to take to work on a special occasion (he usually just carries a regular lunch bag because I’m not making this for every single lunch! Are you kidding me…).

It’s really simple to make .. I’m not one for elaborate projects that mere mortals like myself can only drool on.

Supplies:

Any patterned paper (I used Kaiser Craft)

cardstock

Ribbon

button

Gourmet Rubber Stamp set (In the Kitchen)

dies (Papertrey Ink – tag and front and center die)

brown lunch bag

Instructions:

  1. Cut 2 rectangle piece of patterned paper approx. larger than the front and center die, stitch a panel of cardstock down the middle and die cut both panels (this will make the front and the bag of the bag).
  2. Adhere a ribbon down the front center panel.
  3. Trim a lunch bag down to size and adhere the stitched panel to the front and bag of lunch bag.
  4. Die cut a tag, stamp and color the cute little toaster. Attach a piece of twine to the top of the tag
  5. Make a bow from the same ribbon and add tag and bow to the bag. Embellish with a button.

There you have it … and there are so many cute images on the set that I’m planning to use the muffin image for my son’s school lunch next. Here is the cutest kitchen set I’ve laid my eyes on.

Oh and don’t forget – the new August appetizer set releases today too!! the cutest Halloween set and a back-to-school set. Lookie …

Happy Birthday!

Hello peeps,

Birthday and thank you cards are the usual types of cards I’m always short on so whenever I have no occasion to make a card for, I always make either a birthday or thank you card to build my stash. Here is one:

The Appetizer set I used is Cupcakes and Candles – it’s not a new set but it’s so sweet I couldn’t resist! Check out our gallery for more ideas on how to use this set! Paper is from Momenta & stickers are KI Memories.

Core Cards Creative Frenzy

Hello Peeps,

True confession time … I am a paper junkie, card stock, patterned paper, scrap paper, post it note paper, toilet paper (oops – didn’t think you noticed) – I LOVE paper period. DH thinks my studio is a fire hazard and the stamps only serve as fuel! LOL – I just love being in my paper haven.

Today I’m sharing the many ways I work with paper. (love making a video tutorial once I get my studio cleaned up)

Project #1: Paint it.

This one I dabbed on with a stippling brush. Dip my brush into many colors and twirl it on the cardstock. Well I stamped it after that, punched it and sewed on it too! Followed by some wet embossing .. you can’t do too much with cardstock!

Project #2: Cut and emboss.

It’s paper – how can you not cut it! I die cut a big ole’ hole in the middle and embossed the heck out of it. I love the colored core of the Core’dination paper I used. It brings out the design so much more! Oh I wish I had some of the kraft core paper but my Archivers or LSS didn’t carry them..hmm.

Project #3: Score it and sand it.

Well, actually I didn’t want to score it by hand so I ran it into the crimping machine (which I cranked by hand … does that count?) and sanded it to get the way COOL score lines! It sure made lining up the sentiments so much easier.

If you love paper as much as I do – head on over to Core’dinations and get the amazing variety of colored core cardstock that you can humanly manipulate!

The Patriot

Hello hello everyone!

We’re in the air right now – literally, on a plane for our Asian vacation. I’m bummed I’m missing 4th of July this year – we usually participate in an “elaborate” kiddo bike parade and a picnic dinner with watermelon involved, followed by some adult fireworks. Real fireworks with some adult friends while the kiddos get to bed – you get your mind out of the gutter!

Since I’m missing 4th of July, I made a 4th of July card with a sneak peek of the new Flower Soft color – The Patriot – releasing this summer CHA!!

My stamp is from Gourmet Rubber Stamp and paper is from Authentique paper. I penciled in a flourish, stamped and embossed my sentiment 1st; then I swirled some Flower Soft glue on the penciled flourish and sprinkled Flower Soft on it!

Happy 4th of July!

It’s all about perspective!

Good morning everyone!

This month’s Gourmet Rubber Stamps design team challenge is “It’s all about perspective”!

Take a stamp and use the image in a different way than it was meant to be used – giving us a whole new perspective on the image. For instance, taking a sentiment stamp and using it to be the petals of a flower, or take a background stamp and use it as a the twine of your banner and so on. This is such a fun and imaginative challenge! Take a look at my card:

I used the new June Diner Set – Bloom and Grow set to create the petals in the flower. It’s actually the individual flower on that set that I stamped 5 times on my card. The sentiment is from the May Diner Set – Swingin’ Spring. Those washi tapes are from the latest Indie Chic collection from My Mind’s Eye – be still my heart!

Head on over to the rest of my talented team mate’s blog to see the creative ways they use their stamps!
