Timeless Irises

Hello everyone,

Welcome to another Crafter’s Companion Friday’s post. I don’t have a new release to share today but I can’t get enough of these beautiful florals in the Art Kure in Bloom collection. It makes for such elegant and timeless cards and here is mine to share.

All the Art Kure florals fit perfectly with the Spellbinders oval dies. My Irises were colored using Spectrum Noirs (LV1, LV2, LV3; DG2, DG3). I sponged around the Irises with some distressed ink to make the image pop. Patterned paper is from American Crafts and twine is from Doodlebug Designs. The translucent pearls you see are actual liquid pearls from Viva Decor. I hope you give this Crafter’s Companion Art Kure collection a 2nd look – it’s beautiful.

Cardabilities Reveal Day for December 15

Welcome to Cardabilities Reveal Day – Sketch #45.

Before I begin this post, I’m thrilled to announce that I have accepted Karan’s invitation to continue on the Cardabilities team for another term! Yeah!

Her sketches are the best to work with and the sketch this week truly reflects my kind of card – traditional, linear, clean and simple. What more is there to say about this sketch – I love it and I could work with this sketch all day long.

Patterned papers are from MME, doily die cut is from Papertrey Ink and big flower is from Kaiser Craft and little flowers are from Offray. Sentiment is from Just Rite Stamps.

I think I’m off to make another card with this sketch just for fun … maybe one with white space in the background.

I had so much fun with this sketch – the patterned paper, the layout of the circles, the borders, the size of the card, the shape of the card. So many possibilities. I even love the bling around the sentiment – wish I had found a larger circle bling – but a hug is supposed to be a tight squeeze right?

Color Challenge – Breast Cancer Awareness

Good morning everyone,

Today’s challenge at Through The Craftroom Door (TTCRD) is a color challenge – Pink and White in honor of Breast Cancer awareness month. I love the challenges at TTCRD because it is a REAL challenge for me – no shortcuts or what haves you. Besides being pink and white, it’s got to be a shaped card too (no rectangles of squares) and use pearls or blings.

I’m dreaming of …

a white Christmas …

Thankfully you cannot actually hear me sing but yes I am in such a Christmas mood these days after making so many Christmas cards that I have Christmas carols ringing in my head.

So here is my old fashion Christmas Card.

Enjoy! But don’t forget about Halloween and Thanksgiving. I know that my kids would be terribly disappointed if we missed Halloween completely.

Oh and before I forget – I also have an announcement to make.

I’ve been invited to join the Through the Craftroom Door design team. Yeah yeah yeah!!

Through the Craftroom Door is a bi-monthly online Digi-Craft/Arts Magazine founded by two friends Suzanne J Dean & Marti Wills because they wanted something different  and unique. Everything in the magazine is handmade, along with great tutorials, templates and articles in each issue. The tone of the magazine is really personal and they even have a challenge blog where you can win all kinds of prizes just for participating.

I am very honored and thrilled to be designing alongside 8 other ladies who are incredibly talented and creative.
