Cuddly Critters

Hello everyone,

Today is my last post for The Pixie Cottage – my term with them has come to an end and Michelle has decided to take  a break for the summer (i.e. not renewing any terms). Thank you for the opportunity to join this fabulous team for the last half a yr! I had a great time getting to know you fine ladies and working with the incredibly talented design team.

Without further ado, here is my card today that would fit in perfectly with the current challenge over at The Pixie Cottage.

The challenge this week is to create a card using cuddly critters and/or use the sketch below:

Well, I might just have a weakness for cuddly critters and I used this cute little one called Gone Fishing from Michelle’s Scrapbooking and More.

 This little cutie was colored using Copic Markers. Papers are from Lilybee Designs.

Just because …

I did this card just because I felt like it.

I’ve been watching the class 3 video at Suzanne Dean’s Color Me Creative Classroom and it has just given me so much mojo to color and make cards. This is a copic coloring class that gives you tips and techniques on coloring various objects and people, quite different from your Copic certification course. There is so many things you learn from that class I don’t even know where to beginning telling you – except to direct you to the class topics. My biggest take away, since I have no fine arts background, is where to highlight my objects making it more realistic looking!

The latest release is Class 5 – even more tips and techniques – I can’t wait to begin!! Oh wait, and there is a holiday special going on now till Jan 5, 2012 … please go check it out. You don’t want to miss this.

Sunday with Crissy Guest Post

Hey everyone,

By now, you would have figured out that I am a huge fan of Crissy Armstrong’s images – they are so achingly adorable, I think. I am extremely proud to be guest designing for her today.

Her challenge this month is “anything goes” – make any card you like and go to her challenge blog, Sundays with Crissy, to play along.

I made 2 cards using her images:

Ain’t Rupert the cutest – I left the card without a sentiment so I could use it for any occasion as it crops up. DP is from Basic Grey (green) and I apologize I cannot remember the manufacturer of the yellow dot paper (it’s from my stash). The butterfly pin is from Jillibean Soup – I have the hardest time finding hat pins so if you know of a place to get them, let me know.

My 2nd card is below:

This little cutie (Sugar Pie Honey Bunch) is one of Crissy’s newer releases … even the name is cute. I love that she has these pencil drawing too – make the whole images so much softer. DP is from October Afternoon (black menu) and Lily Bee Designs (yellow dots). Ribbon is from Fancy Pants Designs. Flower is from Kaiser Craft.

My 1st Guest Post …

Hello friends,

Today is my 1st guest post with One Crazy Stamper (OCS). OCS is a retailer up north in Canada with a large online presence and since September this year, a brick and mortar store too.

I have grown to love the wonderful stamps they carry – stamps from Whimsy, Stampavie, Crafter’s Companion, Stamping Bella, Bells and Whistles, Just Rite, Heartfelt Creations and alot more – all in 1 place (easy to get free shipping). Needless to say, I shop there too. I also hear from my Canadian friends, they have the cheapest Copic Markers in Canada without the custom duties of buying from the US.

They have a wonderful DT with amazing coloring skills and I am pleased to join them this month as their guest designer.

The challenge theme this month is “food and drinks” and you can win a shopping spree to OCS.

Primary Colors

I wonder why every time I make a primary colored card, it always turn out looking like a kids card.
