For someone special

Good morning everyone! Before I get to the papercrafting business, I want to say:

And as Christmas is also drawing near, I’m thinking of all my family who are with me and not with me this season (most are in various different countries). So for today’s Tuesday Throwdown Challenge – to make something for someone special – I made a Christmas card for someone special.

Primary Colors

I wonder why every time I make a primary colored card, it always turn out looking like a kids card.

Thinking of you

When Falls come around, I think of Thanksgiving; and when I think of Thanksgiving, I think of you. Sounds like a song doesn’t it – no actually, I have been reading the children’s book “If you give a moose a muffin”… he’ll want this and when you give him this, he’ll want that, and that and that. So that’s what’s been ringing in my head.

So it is kinda timely that the challenge at Tuesday Throwdown is to make a “Thinking of You” card. Our sponsors this week is MY GRAFICO!!! Yeah yeah yeah!! I love MY GRAFICO images, especially this typewriter one I used on my card this week. (I have my eye on a telephone one I’m going to use next).

Designer papers are from My Mind’s Eye (teal) and Authentique Paper (tan). Sentiment is self-generated from the computer.

OWH is celebrating its birthday this month, and since it gets its stock from crafters like us, we thought we’d help them celebrate by helping them grow their stock of cards through our challenge this week.

Dimensions and Textures

Happy Tuesday everyone!

This week at Tuesday Throwdown, our challenge is “Lots of dimension and textures”. LOL – has that ever been a problem in the card making world?? I guess this is one challenge we should see lots of entries.

Our sponsor is MY GRAFICO and I used this delicious strawberry jam image. And loaded her up with about 6 layers of papers, a felted strawberry 3-D sticker from American Crafts, decorated with flowers and pearls, popped up the jam jar and the sentiment from Just Rite Stamps for even more dimension; added a doily and sewed the edges for texture. All the white cardstock is from PTI and I just bought their white adhesive sheets to try (used it on the sentiment border and the mat for the jam jar) and they are the most convenient things.

How’s that for an overkill on texture and dimensions? Now I’m off to weigh her to make sure I don’t need extra postage – oh, and I better give her a fitting too, to make sure she fits in a regular envelope.
