Welcome to another Flower Soft inspired post!

Those little pot of sprinkles are just amazing to work with and since joining the design team, I’ve discovered the card toppers and kits too that makes it a blast to make very cute looking cards!

Our challenge this week is to use any image to make a “Heart U” themed card – ya, any Valentine’s or Anniversary card that says I love you or has a heart on it. Here is my “Heart U” card …

I used Poppy Red Flower Soft as faux stitching around my doily heart. It’s simple enough to dot some flower soft glue around the heart and sprinkle those Flower Soft on the glue. I discovered that the Flower Soft does get into the other holes that don’t have glue on them so my advice is to flip the card 180 degrees upside down and tap the excess Flower Soft of the card straight off (instead of tipping it off sideways for the Flower Soft to slide off, KWIM)

Stampendous Superbowl Giveaway

When everyone in my house is watching the Superbowl, the non sports fan (you’re truly) is left to my own devices … so I made a card that celebrates the girly girl in me that says no Superbowl for me!

On my card, I played with the new colored fragments – mixed it in shabby white embossing enamel and gold glitter and embossed it around the frame.

Tuesday Throwdown From the Heart Challenge

Hi y’all,

Before we get to the challenge this week, I am very sad to announce that this is my last challenge with the Tuesday Throwdown design team. This team is one of my 1st design teams and over the last half a year, I have gotten to know these ladies and come to regard them as my friends. To leave them is very heavy on my heart. I’m going to miss you Brenda, Ceal, Davi, Deedee, Lauren, NanaConnie, Yolanda.

Without making everyone any more sappy, the challenge this week is to use HEARTS in your creations. Our sponsor is Dearie Dolls Digi Stamps.

For such a simple card, I wasn’t quite expecting to use so many paper selection for this – My Mind’s Eye (floral & gingham), Studio Calico (tan text), Crate Paper (wood grain), Authentique Paper (dark red background). The black mat is actually just acrylic paint roughly painted on.

Hello everyone!

CHA is a day away!! This is always the time that I’m swooning over all the new products coming out. Crafter’s Companion will be at booth #2119 so if you will be there, stop by and say hello to us. I know I will be there and would love to meet you.

Every Friday for the last couple of weeks, you have seen me post various Crafter’s Companion new releases such as the Strawberry Kisses collection, the Arty Kure collection and the Kanji collection. My card today will feature the Love You set from SWALK Winter collection which is also just released this winter.

Here is a close up of the image.

I also used the new boxer board to make this drawer set that I plan to give to my husband for Valentine’s Day, with little surprise gifts in the drawers. It comes with a DVD of valuable instructions and projects, such as this one, and it is so easy to follow. Before owning the boxer and watching the DVD, I have never made anything more than 2 folds. So if I can make this, anyone else can! Check it out and have a fun and creative week!

This has been a crazy week for me because I’m prepping last minute cards and projects for CHA and it’s also incredibly exciting because I get to leave for CHA this weekend!! Woohooooooo!!

Valentine’s day card

Good morning everyone!

Welcome to another challenge at Wags n Whiskers (WnW). With Valentine’s day less than a month to go, the challenge this week is to make a Valentine’s/Love card. This is my opportunity to add all the romantic embellishments on my card – yippee!

I used He Loves Me digital stamp from Wags n Whiskers. Postage stamp sentiments are from Raindrop Echo Designs, Love Ticket is from Tim Holtz Ideology line and DP is from My Mind’s Eye.

Step it up …

Hello my online friends,

I wanted to share this card I made using a Mabel Lucie Attwell Card Kit – a Flowersoft New Release. This is a first for me in a couple of regards – using a card kit and making a center step card!

I don’t know why I have never thought of using a card kit before but I LOVE how this turned out! It’s just so easy to use – I just cut out the image and used it as a card topper. The image is just perfect – no coloring, with pre-marked lines that is easy to cut out and all I did was just embellished – how fun! It sure helps with a lot more room on a center step card to play with.

Papers are from October Afternoon, Crate Paper, Studio Calico and My Mind’s Eye. My sentiment is a Stampendous stamp on a Crate Paper chipboard tag. I love how the vintage elements playing along side nicely with the relatively modern felted trees from Pebbles.

And thanks to the DVDs I have been watching from Crafter’s Companion, I finally mastered making a card with more than 2 folds.

For the love of a stamp

Dear friends,

Sometimes I make a card for no reason, just because I love the stamps and I love the papers. When I saw this Stampendous Cling Jumbo Romantic Border stamp set, all I saw was a romantic girly wedding card and I had the perfect flowery paper to go with it.

I’m glad I also found a textured cardstock to stamp the image on to give it that slightly distressed and vintage look. Oh and that flowery paper is from My Mind’s Eye and the elegant sentiment is also from Stampendous Perfectly Clear Stamps Vase Set. I’m happy with my girly, not too frilly, romantic wedding card.

Crafter’s Companion Newest Release

Don’t miss these Art Kure stamps! Beautiful scenic images of England – Anne Hawthaway’s Cottage, Derbyshire Dales, Durham Castle, St Mellion Church – these are just some of the amazing artwork made into stamps! Wow – I am just mesmerized by the artistry and details of these images.

Here is one of them that I had the opportunity to partially colored up and distress.

I just love how “grown up” my work looks using these image, KWIM. My background paper is from My Mind’s Eye Quite Contrary Collection and those gems on the top left is from Mark Richards.

All of us

Good morning my friends,

I’ve been cleaning up and catching up in my craftroom lately and one of the things I have been doing is going through my photos to see which ones to scrap and which ones to update our photo frames around our house etc. I noticed that the person scrapbooking (me) is usually never the person in the pictures. This is the 1st picture I found of all 4 of us – notice how old my youngest child is before this picture was taken (she was 10 months old)!

Papers were from Basic Grey, BoBunny and My Mind’s Eye. Those gorgeous eye catching stamps are from Stampendous – have I said this before, I CANNOT get enough of those jumbo clings. I used the Cling Jumbo Thinking of You medallion and the Perfectly Clear Stamps wedding corners for the flourish. My card is also showcased on the Stampendous Blog today! Yeah!

I actually made this as a 2 page layout – but since there was so few pictures of us 4 together, page 2 was full of pictures of us in pajamas. So I guess I wouldn’t be sharing that.

You make me smile …

My dear Emma – I look at these photos of you laughing your lungs out and I have no idea what you were laughing about. It certainly doesn’t help that I’m only scrapping it now – 1.5 years after the photo was taken.

My dear readers – my point is: PLEASE write it down! I know – it IS easier to preach than to practice tho’ … I’ve been saying “write it down” to myself for years but when the time comes for me to write it down, I can’t find a pen/pencil and by the time I get around to finding a pen/pencil, I already forgot what I am supposed to be writing now… hmmm.

So my simplest 2012 resolution: have a pencil/pen with me all the time, behind my ear is a good place to keep it (nerd-alert!) … so anyhow, for now, I’m content with just smiling at her laughing picture and know that she is loved and happy.

My papers are from Basic Grey, My Mind’s Eye and some from my stash. Those magnificant eye-catching stamps on the background are from Stampendous – Cling Jumbo Dahlia and Cling Jumbo Romantic Border. LOVE those Stampendous cling jumbo stamps! Those cutesy flowers are from Pebbles. And you may ask how I did those giant half circles – traced from my dinner plates and dotted with liquid pearls! Oh and I should mention that you can’t buy those Cling Jumbo Dahlias at the Stampendous website anymore but you can get them at the Michael’s store this spring.

It’s time to look back …

Hello everyone,

I always feel very nostalgic at the start of a New Year. Don’t get me wrong – I’m excited for a new beginning; I’m not used to writing 2012 in print yet but I’m sad that another year has gone by. So this 1st challenge of the new year at CMC challenge is aptly themed “RETRO” – use BLACK, PINK/HOT PINK and WHITE.

Born to Shop

Don’t we all love to shop – some start earlier than others. This photo of my daughter at 1 ½ yrs old digging through my shopping – at 2yrs now, she gets off the shopping cart and picks out toy necklaces off the shelves and accessories herself before we leave the store! Should I be nervous?

Here is a layout of my little darling – born to shop.

I enjoy making layouts like that where the focus of the layout are the photos embellished with little bits of papers from my stash and fun eye candy such as that banner, the tiny crown and dress form, all made from Stampendous Perfectly Clear Charm Collection set and the mish-mash of leftover letterings for the title.

Cardabilities Reveal Day for December 15

Welcome to Cardabilities Reveal Day – Sketch #45.

Before I begin this post, I’m thrilled to announce that I have accepted Karan’s invitation to continue on the Cardabilities team for another term! Yeah!

Her sketches are the best to work with and the sketch this week truly reflects my kind of card – traditional, linear, clean and simple. What more is there to say about this sketch – I love it and I could work with this sketch all day long.

Stampendous December Color Challenge

I am so excited that this is my 1st post for Stampendous and I get to play along with a fun and easy color challenge! This month we are going to play with colors – Pink, Brown, Cream and Gold. Use at least 3 of the colors on your card! The colors can be by way of papers, coloring implements, inks, and/or any of the fabulous Stampendous Essentials. If you’ve been stuck in a traditional holiday color mode, this is your opportunity to think outside the Christmas crayon box!

Being an overachiver, I decided to use all 4 colors on my card. Well besides the fact that I had to try out my new Stampendous product – Frantage Aged Gold Embossing Enamel. Love the awesome vintage/bronzy look and it brings my stamped image to life – so cool. Check it out:
