Two-fer: Color and sketch challenge

Hello everyone,

Is anyone trying to multi-task, kill two birds with one stone, crunched for time, etc etc etc? Here is a two-fer challenge for ya!

Make a card or a project with this sketch in mind:

PCP sketch Jan 25

and in this color scheme:

GRS Jan 25 Color challenge

Now that is a very simple sketch and a very gorgeous color scheme … and here is my simple card with a sweet sweet color theme, using the BRAND NEW Gourmet Rubber Stamps Truffles set called Thinking of You. Patterned paper is from My Mind’s Eye and inks generously provided by Tsukineko.

Come play with us – you can upload your card to Paper Craft Planet gallery (tag your card “SK012513″ so we can find it) and Gourmet Rubber Stamps facebook page.

Brand New Stampendous on PCP 3D challenge

Hello my friends,

Every new year, after I’m cleaned up from the holiday madness and sometime around middle of January, I get nostalgic and pensive as I reflect on the year past and the year forthcoming.  This is when I start cleaning out the studio and organizing everything by theme – to keep, to throw, to make, you get the point. So today’s Paper Craft Planet 3D challenge is to create a project around the theme of “reflection”.

Stampendous CHA Jan 2013c

I decorated a mirror for today’s 3D project using newly released Stampendous stamps – Cling Kids on Wheels, Cling Garden Gal and Cling Tree Poem. Mirror was also distressed and embellished with some gorgeous Frantage Essentials from Stampendous.

Please tag your photo 3d200 and upload it to the PCP gallery :) I can’t wait to see what you make.

Easy Home Decor

Hi everyone and welcome to another Paper Craft Planet 3d challenge!

I just took down my Halloween decorations last week (you know the ghosts, witches, spiders and those that specifically say Happy Halloween) and guess what, I realized that I don’t have enough Fall themed decorations to take me till Thanksgiving. So, my mission, to quickly whip up a couple of quick and easy Fall themed decorations.

These 2 were just pumpkins spray painted in black to fit my home decor – I added rhinestones to one of them and a strip of patterned paper and a twine bow to the other.

This was a twig wreath I found at Michaels – hot glue cinnamon sticks together and tied a ribbon around it. Make 5 of these ribboned cinnamon sticks and hot glue onto wreath.

So simple – anyone can do it. What are some simple 3D crafts you have done?

This week’s sketch at Paper Craft Planet

Good morning my friends,

Welcome to another sketch challenge this week at PCP, take a peek:

And here is my version:

I decided to go with a conservative sketch and I fished out an older Impression Obsession stamp and some papers from my stash for my card. I’d love to see what you create – either from your stash or something new.

To add your creation to this week’s sketch just add the tag SK091412 when uploading it in your planet photo album.

Sketch challenge at Paper Craft Planet!

Howdy folks,

Come join us on this nice sunny day!

I often wonder if a simple open layout is easier to create with or a well-defined layout easier. Personally, I like working with a simple one and let my imagination take me when I’m playing with papers or embellishments.

Here is my version:

The card features home made washi tape and Stampendous stamps. As I finished this card, I wondered if I could use a card layout for a scrapbook layout..I flipped the sketch around for this one and here is my attempt:

The beautiful patterned paper with the banners already printed on is from My Mind’s Eye and I love that a simple layout allows me to see most of my papers too.

There you have it – 1 sketch, 2 different ways. How would you like to use your sketch?

I’m a SuperNova!

Hello all,

I have an announcement to make! I feel like the luckiest person in the world – I’m on the Paper Craft Planet design team!

Paper Craft Planet is one of the best online communities here in blogland – awesome tutorials, industry news, challenges and so much more! One of my favorite posts that I keep going back to is the post reporting the scrapbook and crafting trends following Winter CHA 2012 and the best part – the amazingly welcoming sense of community. I think about half a dozen people I didn’t know privately messaged a welcome note to me when I first joined the community about 6 months ago. How cool is that!

This time is no exception – Susanna and the current design team made me feel so incredibly wanted on the team with their extremely prompt and so heartfelt welcome. I ♥ you girls!

Who are these talented girls I’m referring to:

Adela Rossol

Wendy Price

Lori Tecler

Susanna Boyd

Amy Park

Loretta Lock

Lyn Bernatovich

Deb Felts

Pam Hornshu

Taylor Usry

Lisa Somerville

and a HUGE congrats to my friends Wendy Jordan and Janelle Stollfus for being the other new SuperNovas too!

Head on over to The Planet blog to check it out! I’ll see you there …
