Christmas Snow

Hello folks,

If I keep posting Christmas cards and Christmas layouts with snow, do you think Christmas or snow might come earlier? Well, if they don’t, new stamps are coming earlier!! Check out these new Stampendous stamps – AWESOME!

I used 3 different Stampendous new stamps on this layout – the reindeer, the Christmas background and the Jumbo Snow flakes. I’ve lately started using glitters and embossing on my layout and I have to say I LOVE it! Create so much texture that is so unique from all the other layouts I see. All the Stampendous glitter, embossing powders, flock are acid free and safe to use on your scrapbook pages. You can find more tips and techniques on using glitter, embossing powders on the tips and technique page.

Anything Goes at CMC Classroom

Good morning peeps!

It’s time for another CMC Copic Challenge at the CMC Classroom! Today’s theme is “anything goes”.

I am on a mission to make masculine cards! What do you think – masculine enough?

The fedora hat is from Pink Cat Studio Masculine set colored with Copic markers. Sentiment is a rub-on from Pebbles.

This week’s prize sponsor is Some Odd Girlstamps. You can use any image you want to enter into the challenge as long as they are colored with any alcohol markers AND fit the theme of course. Your card must also be newly created.

And when you play along the entire month (just 2 cards), you are also entered into the monthly drawing for the shopping spree at Oozak. How can you beat two prize opportunities – head on over to be inspired and get to coloring.

Cardabilities reveal for March 30 and my last one.

Welcome to another Cardabilities reveal and this is my last post with Cardabilities after 2 lovely terms working with Karan’s sketches. (that’s the term extention limit)

I thoroughly enjoyed the community of Cardabilities and the ladies I designed with are superb talented and a blast to get to know. Thank you Karan for giving me the opportunity – not once but twice. You are one talented artist and I appreciate your support!

Well, here is the sketch:

And here is my take:

I love how this card turned out – the doodling around the edge, the pattern on the rosette, the colors use. I hope you find yourself inspired to play along too. I know I will be back to play along too.

Step it up …

Hello my online friends,

I wanted to share this card I made using a Mabel Lucie Attwell Card Kit – a Flowersoft New Release. This is a first for me in a couple of regards – using a card kit and making a center step card!

I don’t know why I have never thought of using a card kit before but I LOVE how this turned out! It’s just so easy to use – I just cut out the image and used it as a card topper. The image is just perfect – no coloring, with pre-marked lines that is easy to cut out and all I did was just embellished – how fun! It sure helps with a lot more room on a center step card to play with.

Papers are from October Afternoon, Crate Paper, Studio Calico and My Mind’s Eye. My sentiment is a Stampendous stamp on a Crate Paper chipboard tag. I love how the vintage elements playing along side nicely with the relatively modern felted trees from Pebbles.

And thanks to the DVDs I have been watching from Crafter’s Companion, I finally mastered making a card with more than 2 folds.

Now your challenge is to take any card found on one of the Design Team blogs or on the Flowersoft Blog and “step it up”.  You will need to link to the original card and show your stepped up creation. If you upload your creation to SCS, please use the keyword FSC43 and flowersoft so we will be able to find you and then add the link to your card to the comments section on the Flower Soft Blog.  The prize for his challenge is the Mabel Lucie Attwell Card Kit.

Here’s a list of the other Design Team members so you get some inspiration:

Have a creative kinda day!

You make me smile …

My dear Emma – I look at these photos of you laughing your lungs out and I have no idea what you were laughing about. It certainly doesn’t help that I’m only scrapping it now – 1.5 years after the photo was taken.

My dear readers – my point is: PLEASE write it down! I know – it IS easier to preach than to practice tho’ … I’ve been saying “write it down” to myself for years but when the time comes for me to write it down, I can’t find a pen/pencil and by the time I get around to finding a pen/pencil, I already forgot what I am supposed to be writing now… hmmm.

So my simplest 2012 resolution: have a pencil/pen with me all the time, behind my ear is a good place to keep it (nerd-alert!) … so anyhow, for now, I’m content with just smiling at her laughing picture and know that she is loved and happy.

My papers are from Basic Grey, My Mind’s Eye and some from my stash. Those magnificant eye-catching stamps on the background are from Stampendous – Cling Jumbo Dahlia and Cling Jumbo Romantic Border. LOVE those Stampendous cling jumbo stamps! Those cutesy flowers are from Pebbles. And you may ask how I did those giant half circles – traced from my dinner plates and dotted with liquid pearls! Oh and I should mention that you can’t buy those Cling Jumbo Dahlias at the Stampendous website anymore but you can get them at the Michael’s store this spring.

My last post …

for Through The Craftroom Door.

Incidentally, today is also my birthday. I am feeling nostalgic today about the passing of another birthday and also the end of this term. The ladies on the team are warm and friendly and we have a real admiration for each other’s work. Melanie is an exceptionally kind leader. I shall miss being on the team with these ladies. Don’t be stranger in blogland ladies.

Here is my card for Through the Craftroom Door:

Background stamp is from Hero Arts. Twine is from Doodlebug Designs, Flowers are from Prima and the sentiment is a rub-on from Pebbles.

Have a fun day!

The Beauty of CAS!

I was surfing the web looking for inspiration when I stumbled on this blog you have to see – he is a 10 9 year old boy whose passion for his craft matches the quality of his work. (His tutorial is in English on The Scrapcake Blog where he is on the design team and his chatter is just so heartwarming.) It’s truly inspiring for me! (Thanks Kuba for stopping by)

So off I go to make more of those bright and happy CAS (clean and simple) cards that my customers like so much.

Papers, cupcake brads, rub-on flowers are from Doodlebug Designs. Happy Birthday sentiment is from Pebbles Inc.

Flower brads are from Doodlebug. Felted trees are from Pebbles Inc., Sentiment is from Heartfelt Creations and I apologize I don’t remember where the twine is from (it’s from my stash).

Enjoy the cards inspired by 10 year old Kuba.
