Stampendous embossing fun

Hello folks,

Some of my favorite Stampendous products are those gorgeous jars of powdered goodness that melt when you heat them into wonderful backgrounds, borders, and focal points. Yep, heat embossing powders and enamels.

This one has completely melted and “colored” my bird- I inked up that portion of the bird with a Versamark pen and spinkled gold enamel on it. He also wears a glitter crown “attached” with liquid adhesive.

The purple lacey background on this layout was stamped and embossed on purple cardstock soo it would stand out and look texturized. I wish you could see the texture on photo.

Stampendous keeps mixing up new, wonderful powders for our fans, and our new Fran•táge Embossing Enamels are already favorites with stampers worldwide. Why not treat yourself to a new powder or two, or pull out one you bought but haven’t tried? You can find all our embossing powders on the Stampendous website HERE – or find a local retailer near you!

Your creations submitted for September’s Challenge don’t have to use Stampendous images, but if they do, they’ll count as two entries. You need to have your submissions linked to our linky tool below by 11:59pm PDT on October 4th. You may enter as many times as you like.

Our prizes this month are, not surprisingly, some of our Exclusive Fran•táge Embossing Enamels. How about our newest colors??! We’ll choose three winners to receive some super hot Essentials.

FREG037 Aged Marine Embossing Enamel & FRG01C Silver Glass Glitter

FREG039 Aged Scarlet Embossing Enamel & FRG02C Champagne Glass Glitter

FREG040 Aged Wine Embossing Enamel & FRG08C Bronze Glass Glitter

Of course you know our favorite embossing technique right now is Fran’s Encrusted Jewel Technique. This super easy, but super dynamic way of creating cool, dazzling, vintage pieces is really fun, and we just can’t get enough. Our Design Team has been using this technique and these gorgeous Enamels for several months, now, with stunning results. They’ve created a batch of terrific projects for you to enjoy. Here’s a link to each of their blogs. The links will stay up all month so you can see all their projects any time.

Powered by Fairy Dust

Hello friends,

Welcome to another Crafter’s Companion post. It’s been a loooong week for me .. actually a long couple of weeks since school started. DS is just heading into 1st grade and I’m just getting beaten up the shock of daily homework. I’m thinking a bit of fairy dust might just do the trick to get me through the weekend!

This little Sheena Douglass A Little Bit Festive set was colored using my Spectrum Noir markers. I glued down a bit of Stampendous glitter for her fairy dust and Ranger stickles for her wings. Lightly chalked the background so it would pop from the white card base. The card base was also scored around the image. A simple card powered by fairy dust this week.

I hope the school year is settling down for most of you. Have a good weekend!

Sketch challenge at Paper Craft Planet!

Howdy folks,

Come join us on this nice sunny day!

I often wonder if a simple open layout is easier to create with or a well-defined layout easier. Personally, I like working with a simple one and let my imagination take me when I’m playing with papers or embellishments.

Here is my version:

The card features home made washi tape and Stampendous stamps. As I finished this card, I wondered if I could use a card layout for a scrapbook layout..I flipped the sketch around for this one and here is my attempt:

The beautiful patterned paper with the banners already printed on is from My Mind’s Eye and I love that a simple layout allows me to see most of my papers too.

There you have it – 1 sketch, 2 different ways. How would you like to use your sketch?

Stampendous Wobbly Fun!

Hello peeps,

This is the the most fun I’ve had on a card – it wobbles!! Action Wobbles that is .. they are action springs you add to part of your card so it wobbles!! How fun is that, especially with interactive cards back in the rage.

All of this entire week, the Stampendous and Action Wobbles teams are taking our stamped cards beyond this stratesphere of fundom and showcasing how they are using Action Wobbles springs on their cards. It is soooo easy to use – just peel and stick under your image! So hold on to your seats and get ready for plenty of inspiration and multiple opportunities to win some fabulous prizes from both companies.

Here is my fun card with my wobbly Stampendous pinecones and Christmas Sentiment, both new released stamp sets:

I also used Stampendous embossing enamels (aged gold and caramel fragments) on the card and sentiment was stamped in Stampendous glitter with a glue pad.

Don’t forget to check out the other talented ladies showcasing their projects today.

Are there prizes?? Of course!! You win 6 Action Wobbles springs and  Party Hat Kiddo and open to US and Canadian residents too! Leave me a comment – Happy hopping and good luck!

Core Cards Creative Frenzy

Hello Peeps,

True confession time … I am a paper junkie, card stock, patterned paper, scrap paper, post it note paper, toilet paper (oops – didn’t think you noticed) – I LOVE paper period. DH thinks my studio is a fire hazard and the stamps only serve as fuel! LOL – I just love being in my paper haven.

Today I’m sharing the many ways I work with paper. (love making a video tutorial once I get my studio cleaned up)

Project #1: Paint it.

This one I dabbed on with a stippling brush. Dip my brush into many colors and twirl it on the cardstock. Well I stamped it after that, punched it and sewed on it too! Followed by some wet embossing .. you can’t do too much with cardstock!

Project #2: Cut and emboss.

It’s paper – how can you not cut it! I die cut a big ole’ hole in the middle and embossed the heck out of it. I love the colored core of the Core’dination paper I used. It brings out the design so much more! Oh I wish I had some of the kraft core paper but my Archivers or LSS didn’t carry them..hmm.

Project #3: Score it and sand it.

Well, actually I didn’t want to score it by hand so I ran it into the crimping machine (which I cranked by hand … does that count?) and sanded it to get the way COOL score lines! It sure made lining up the sentiments so much easier.

If you love paper as much as I do – head on over to Core’dinations and get the amazing variety of colored core cardstock that you can humanly manipulate!

Hayride & Apples Layout

Hello my friends,

I’m sharing another Stampendous layout today – all full of newly minted stamps just seen at CHA last week!

Hayride

& Apples

On the top layout, the kiddos on the wagon was colored using Copic Markers and I love that I had the perfect photos to match the stamp – what are the odds of that!! On the bottom layout, that Autumn text is just divine! I embossed it with various colors of Stampendous embossing powders (from opaque to clear colored powders) with the intent of having the colors fade to transparent as Fall approaches. This is the 1st time I’m using embossing on a layout – something I will keep for a longer time than a card and I wanted to make sure it’s archival safe. I discovered that Stampendous embossing powders are acid free and archival safe for your scrapbooks – here is where I found it and a whole host of other tips and techniques I never knew existed!

Have fun browsing and learning new things!

This Tooth Fairy Is Ready!!

Hello folks..

If you follow me via FB, you may already know that for the last month, DS has been obsessed with losing his 1st tooth and making me test it daily. Well – if I concentrate hard enough, it might just wiggle 1/100 of an inch that day. Well, it’s been a month and nothing is happening yet. Oh and he has tested the market place too – the tooth fairy market place that is – and he found out that the tooth fairy brought 1 friend “paper money”, another “round money” and yet another got candy!! I quickly squelch that candy thought ‘coz this tooth fairy is not encouraging tooth decay in brand new teeth.

Since we’re on a month long family vacation this month and I will be no where near my crafting supplies, I thought it might be prudent for this tooth fairy to be ready just in case it does decide to fall out while we are away. Here is my heavenly arsenal:

The cute stars sticker is from Momenta, the stamps are from My Time Made Easy and the delicious glitter is from Stampendous!

Let’s hope I don’t have to test the tooth much longer.

Journey Card

Hello all,

I’m sharing a Stampendous card today – one that was posted on the Scrapbook & Cards Today blog and I realized I had not share it with you yet.

I love how this card came together – specifically, I love the map stamp! Everyone needs a map stamp .. just say’n! The train stamp is so nice and vintagey too and goes so well with the map. Check out the other cool stamps on this Railway stamp set. And to top it all, that glitter mix is just the best! It looks like the train is going over some crushed limestone gravel thingy. I wanted to re-take the photo of this card coz I saw the sun glare to the bottom right which I had missed on the camera viewfinder for some reason but DH saw the photo and thought it was cool that the train looked like it’s coming out of some imaginary tunnel into the sunlight! Well – I now think the card looked much cooler with a story behind it like that – hence the “flaw” stayed.

I hope you are having a wonderful journey.
